I don't usually comment on fics when I start reading them and there are still so many chapters to read, but I just have to say at this point that you've developed a really pathological character in James, he's really quite frightening. On the flip side, I love your version of Edward, so far he's been so caring and nurturing with Bella, it's really cool. Sure hope when I get to the end of this fic that B and E are together. I'm sure they are, or this story would be rather pointless. One other thing, you don't seem to make much use of the various implements that are typically used in the BDSM world... although I like what you've written a lot, your portrayal does seem sort of vanilla for that culture.

I know that this was written a long time ago, so it doesn't really matter what I have to say about this chapter, but, just for the record, I thought Edward was a dick and Bella let him off too easily. He's not just her dom, he's her boyfriend, and he had no business kissing other women, or flirting with the subs, it doesn't matter that they might be gay. In what world would a girlfriend allow a boyfriend to act that way? You've pushed it too far... she shouldn't be apologizing to him... like I said, he's a dick... a selfish dick...

I agree with you completely, but the D/s lifestyle is just not that easy. Yes, he should have warned her, but the lifestyle ISN'T a fair one. Not really, the D has the s's COMPLETE submission. By the same token, the s holds the power to stop ALL activities and scenes by using her safe words - which is why they are so important.

Always like your chapters, although I'm not a fan of your version of Charlie... but love how you've written everyone else. I guess I would have let Charlie go, thinking B is better off without him... just too much drama. And am glad that E&B are having some time away from the BDSM lifestyle. Not that I don't find that to be an interesting facet of their relationship, but it does get to be somewhat oppressive after a while... always seems like a good idea to take a break at times and regroup. Anyway, looking forward to Christmas with the Cullens.

Thank you for your honest review. Hmmm, Charlie is a bit of an enigma for me. This Charlie fitted the story, but as Bella developed I realised that SHE would never just let him go. Avoidance is one of both her and Charlie's ways of NOT dealing with life and in order for Bella to grow stronger in her relationship with Edward, she HAS to go back and deal with her unresolved past.
You know that saying, 'If you don't deal with life, it will deal with you'? This is only too true. I hope you enjoy the next chapter - sorry Charlie is in it, but things are looking up.

I don't know... I don't hate you, but does bdsm have to be so heartless? I know that the sub has to submit, but really, at the cost of her self worth...? I have no problem with anyone who practices bdsm... it's all good... but I don't think I can support people who are selfish, inhumane and heartless. Jeez, Alice is fearful of her own brother... even in a bdsm world, that's GOT to be wrong, right? The whole "lack of trust" issue in this chapter is bullshit. And Esme's support of E and J... it's sick (and not the good definition of sick). So, I'm wondering, is Carlisle's support of Bella at the end of the chapter, and his obvious lack of respect for B and J's behavior, a sign that the 2 assholes will become a bit more respectful of their partners in future chapters? Hope so, they're cold and heartless... and I think you need to bring a major spank down on them... they need to apologize to B and A for being so disrespectful...

Wow... what a chapter. Sorry to say this, but Edward is a total dick. The only thing Bella did wrong was to be rude to Kate and Garret when they were guests in her home.
And Esme... can't believe how awful she was to B... was she feeling a bit competitive for E's attention? B let her off way too easy...
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this fic and I'll read every last chapter. You're a good writer, it's a great story and you've created a world that really draws the reader in. And that's why I have such strong opinions about the storyline.
That said, I hope you don't mind if I share some more of my impressions with you.
I was kind of bothered by the way Kate makes excuses for E... she says he's just a man. Well, hell yeah he's just a man, and one who should be a LOT more responsible for B if he's taking on the Dom role. She's probably suffering post traumatic stress disorder, and all he can do is worry about himself.
Even Jasper is a jerk when he tells Ali not to interfere and puts his "game face" on. She knows her brother better than he does... Jasper's so dismissive... And the 30 day punishment... no contact between the girls for 30 days (?)... it's too much...
Can't Edward have more respect for B's feelings and/or self-esteem, even though it's a Dom/Sub relationship? I don't participate in the BDSM world, so I probably don't get it...
Anyway, B and A need to cut their guys loose until E and J can get their heads out of their asses. I'm just sayin'...

Hey, Edward and Jasper are way too immature and self-absorbed to be doms... the whole Bella/Alice month separation is ridiculous... just shows that E&J are not worthy of controlling someone else's life, 'cuz that's what a dom does, and they aren't doing it well. And although they may have been forgiven for going along with Emmett's bad idea of staying away from the girls for a night at Cullen Crest, it's still another example of gross negligence on their part. Maybe they should get their shit together before they mess with the lives of others, whadda' ya' think? They're too arrogant, they need a MAJOR dressing down. And someone needs to kick Esme's ass super hard, jeez, whatever happened to maternal instincts... she's not a mom I'd want in my life... why did she have it out for her own daughter?? Really cold...

I'm kind of confused, the pounding on the bedroom door could be James' cohorts trying to get to them... yes? But, the pounding at the foyer door must mean it's someone outside the room??? Like NOT one of James' friends??! And if that's the case, then where are James' friends?? Why aren't they on this? They're right there!! And how would anyone outside the room know what's going on??? The gunshots, maybe, but you can never count on random witnesses who hear a loud noise to take action. This is very confusing. It can't go smoothly, but it's your story, and if you make it happen this way, I guess I have to go along with it. Just sayin', it's always nice for things to go down in a credible way. That said, I sure hope Bella, E and A are going to be ok. And I look forward to the next post.
