my gut reaction says that maybe he was an undercover law enforcement person who was discovered, hence the beating.....or maybe he was a criminal who wanted out of whatever he was into....but I like my first idea best.
love that he can cook! very interesting and telling that he knows his way around guns, evidently. even more interesting is how that knowledge freaked him out. maybe it was the way he took apart that Glock without even being aware he did it that freaked him out.....the growing attraction between he and Bella is lovely! Yes, I think cooking is an awesome skill to have, particularly for a guy since it's a bit less common. Yes, his apparent intimate knowledge of the Glock freaked him out--he knows he would have to own one to know it that well. And being someone he won't be proud of is his worst fear, and this suggests things could go that way.

I had almost forgotten just how much this story affected me. I read a LOT of FF and most of it is good, some more than others, but I very much enjoyed reading this outtake. you have woven a story with many amazing twists on the original. it's almost like an original, it IS original. interesting theory on the origin of vampires....since they have no presiding officials, is there no body who knows the real story? I suppose Emmett's version will suffice since there is no one to say differently....mutation IS how many other species have come about, so it seems logical....you reveal here just a hint of Bella's back story and I'm eager to hear more. Also about her origins.....with each succeeding chapter, I fall under it's spell, this story, just a bit more....Lovely job, dear. You do always grab and hold my attention with your diverse works!

The slip up in his voice at the end, in the restaurant at lunch, is only the beginning of the clues she'll notice, I think. Who the F is Victoria? Ex-fiancee?? I thought he was in love only once, to that woman who he told her about that got married and had a kid. The one from the beginning of the story. What was she, Israeli, or Egyptian, or something like that??

That stuff with Victoria was some of the most hilarious dialogue I've read! I love it when Bella told her she didn't want to meet her. Just sinfully delicious! Glad you liked it, Judy. I spoke to quite a few women regarding the issue you bring up concerning recognizing touches, etc. Especially the oral sex part, when it happens. Of all the women I internvewed, they said that they would not be able to tell, nor would they even think about it. They said they would be in the moment with the one they are with. I think this totally makes sense because I wouldn't be able to tell the difference either and nor would I compare one man to another. I believe it's because we are reading this issue in the this story that we expect it when, in reality, it wouldn't happen unless Bella was actually looking for something comparable. Which she is not. I hope this makes sense. You and I think a lot alike on many issues that it's beyond uncanny. I believe if you honestly think about this, it will make sense to you. Oh Dishie, you worry too much about whether or not your readers will be mad at you. I can't speak for anyone else, but I read this chapter KNOWING that this would happen. You warned us with the teaser. Yes, it's an evil cliffie, but those are the kinds of things that make a story worthwhile, IMHO. It's very clever of you to make it happen this way. She doesn't recognize it from his touch, she sees him going into THAT building and, although the gut feelings start to build, she goes to confront him anyway!! I have a feeling that you will somehow add forgiveness to the mix here, maybe in a chapter or five.....You write it beautifully and I hate to see the doubt you express about that when you are so afraid of what people will think. I love it.

You left us with quite a cliffie, dear! I know, it isn't the first time and it won't be the last! LOL! I love that the reunion, which I KNOW is coming, is taking it's time getting here. That slow torture is something I've come to love in a story and you are handling it so well! I can't believe that Seth let Phil seduce him into revealing things that never should have been revealed about Bella, her situation, and her gallery.
