Set during Breaking Dawn from September to December, this is my story of Edward and Bella’s voyage of sexual discovery from the first night they go to their cottage in the woods. Follow Bella's first night as a vampire after her tumultuous introduction to vampirehood, motherhood and meeting the Cullen family as an equal.
Told mostly from Bella's POV, it will take you on their journey of learning about each other, loving each other as they've craved since the beginning. Watch their tender bonding with beautiful Nessie and their interaction with the Cullen family through the weeks that follow until the arrival of the Volturi. All the Cullens are in the story, helping them adapt, as is Jacob's wolf pack.
Rated NC-17: Explicit lemony scenes and language almost from the start.

Ascension of the Morning Star chronicles the journeys Bella must take on the path to her fulfill her destiny. I simply adore Carlisle. I used to not understand all the Carlisle/Bella fic out there... seemed, wrong. But as I got into my story, I can see there are some real aspects of their relationship that are very intimate and free... not sexual, mind you. But I think he loves to do that flirt thing and get a rise out of her, just to see her blush. Think about it? He has a whole hospital of women, an entire town, or more... that he could flirt with if he just wanted to stroke his ego. But after 400 years, that kind of flirting has to grow old. In Bella maybe he sees the special things that Edward sees, but also I think, Carlisle see's alot the Edward misses. LIkewise goes for Bella. She confides in Carlisle easily, without hesitating. They have a bond all their own.
AGAIN I SAY, theirs is not a sexual bond... but perhaps, one of a soul mate, in the true sense of the word: a friend to the soul. In gaelic: anam cara.

(I dont' normally talk like that...but when you put a Brooklyn girl in the South for a long while, there are some colorful phrases that sneak into the lexicon. Another is 'rode hard and put up wet' which to me sounds just wrong. But I digress...)
I am so glad you thought it a cool chapter. That's not a reaction I am getting much...but I have to say I agree. I think the backstory of Renee's debacle is really important and well, it will become even more so later on. The choices we make in life, especailly the bad ones, form who we are. Granted, we knew Renee was a looney toon long before this, but somehow to me, I really believe she was showing a maternal care that we had not expected from her. If Bella were another sort of person, not one who has been on her own and mothering to Renee for some time...I think, perhaps we would not be so upset with Renee for the crazy choice she made to hide the truth from Bella.
Could it be that this act of protection could be the last motherly thing Renee ever gets to show Bella how much she really does love her?

It will be interesting to see if he finds the secret or if it finds him.
Just because he is not consciously aware of what is surrounding him doesn't mean that he doesn't feel the vibe. And add that curious nature...well, you have a recipe for trouble where secrets are concerned. Putting words to that vibe is not always easy. I think Charlie's latent talents (undiscovered) put him on the edge of discovery in more ways than one.
Yeah, we haven't heard the last of Charlie nor have the Cullen's been released from the fear that the friendly-neighborhood Chief of Forks' finest might be a new wrinkle in their quest to assimilate Bella without raising suspicions. Somehow, the "I'm not coming home for Christmas, I'm in the Sudan" story of a world tour may not be enough cover, after all.

Not as surprised as Emmett and Charlie, right!? It is hard to know what Charlie is aware of on a conscious level. He often referred to the superstitious closemindedness of the town against 'new comers' and railed against their suspciousness. But he was also (in this story) tied to the Rez during his young life and was taken in to be 'educated' as it were as one of the black sheep of the tribe. It stands to reason he would have heard the stories of the Cold Ones and perhaps the shapeshifting spirit warriors and how th tribe was descended from wolves. But would he put the shards of truth in those stories into context and apply it to the Cullen's? I guess we will have to find out. Something significant would have to motivate him to that thought, doncha think?

Set 5 years after Breaking Dawn, the Cullens leave Forks for a new life. However, one of them lapses, putting the entire family at risk. This is not a Jake and Nessie story, and gets quite dark in places. Contains vampire violence.
I was rooted to the spot. I had been a vampire for five years, but I had never taken a human life, nor seen one taken. In the instant it took me to take in the broken form in his lap, I finally understood what I was, what we all were. I could smell the blood from the lifeless body in front of me, and it smelled good. My throat burned and my mouth filled with venom.
