If I may insert a small critique, I know that you're Australian, and I enjoy the twist in making your Bella an Aussie as well. However, since your Edward is American, you should try to keep his speech patterns American as well. We say 'vacation' instead of 'holiday', our mothers are 'mom' instead of 'mum', and our 'mates' are 'friends' (A mate in American lingo is considered to be something more of a sex act between animals, or the tight bond of love between two people, as represented in the Twilight saga, not merely friends.). It's also rare to hear an American complete a statement with 'yeah?'; more often you'll hear 'okay?' when seeking an agreement. So far these are the only distinguishable euphamisms I've come across in your story, and I encourage you to continue crafting this excellent work. Just keep in mind that to create a believable character, you may need to work a bit outside your element.
