I always try to make my fics 'different' from the norm, and this won't be an exception. They will be on this same course for a few more chapters, though. Edward doesn't trust what he's feeling, actually at this point, he doesn't even recognize it. Bella has to earn his trust and show him that all women aren't like Kate. I hope you'll stay with me! Based on X-Men movies, a bit of the 90s cartoon. Jean Grey/Phoenix returns after saving everyone at Alkali Lake...changed. Scott is dead and Logan attempts to connect with her. Logan and Jean have one night, Jean disappears and joins the Brotherhood and gives birth to a baby girl. Logan’s child.
The mutant war forces Jean to sacrifice herself. With Professor X presumed dead, there is no one leading and holding the X-Men together, Storm can only do so much. Logan has disappeared, grief stricken at the loss of Jean, at his hands and wanders the globe.
Jean’s baby is found, presumed abandoned and turned over to foster care. The child was nearly two years old when she was discovered deep in a forest hideaway with no identification, she barely spoke, but she was strong and her eyes showed that she was wise, intelligent, seeing. The authorities posted signs and made TV appearances pleading for someone to come forward and claim the little beauty that had been dubbed Bella. Author's Response: It was meant to be unsettling. When faced with something dificult, I think it is natural to project onto others. Remy favors Edward in stature, build, and somewhat in coloring. Bella shares some traits with Rogue. It seems natural that they would gravitate toward one another because they are somewhat familiar, and therefore comfroting. Also... I was not sure how long I wanted to draw this out or if I wanted a HEA, so Bella needed to keep her options open. *winks* I am not of the school of thought where there are no other pairing possibilities or that everyone ends up with rainbows and lollipops. To put your mind at ease, E/B get their rainbows and unicorns in the end. Thanks for sticking with me!

Author's Response: Thanks for the tip. I just finished Phantasm today. I didn't realize it was complete because of the length. As for my story, I alluded to much of what it is about in this first chapter. It won't be terribly violent or graphic. I'm kinda timid on these topics, so I promise it won't be too bad. I just wanted to give everyone fair warning that this will have more adult themes - not all touchy-feely like true last story. I hope you'll still read. Thanks!
