After all the decades of lies, I think finding and falling in love with his mate was too much to fight against. I think whether he admitted it or not, he wanted her to know him. I'm so glad you liked it! You wouldn't believe how much trouble this chapter gave me!
I wanted the epilogue to really be just Edward and Bella--let you know what was going on with the others, but "off page" so to speak.
The current day Masens were who enabled the whole story to happen by saving the desk and passing it on when Bella showed up, so I thought it was only fair to end everything with them knowing that Edward and Bella are together. Edward and Bella basically walking off into the sunset with the Masens looking on.... (Okay--it was cloudy, no sunset, but still.) That was exactly how I wanted to end it.
I'm both thrilled and sorry it's finally finished, but I've got two new stories in the works, and I'm glad to hopefully have a little more time to work on them.

I'm so glad you liked it. I don't really think Edward is in any real danger. Victoria has no idea he's alone, but even if she did find him while he was alone, he'd have a three mile head start as soon as he heard their thoughts. In this scenario, Laurent never looked back after meeting Irina, so Victoria has had no heads up on the Cullen's special abilities. Bella was willing to give Edward time because she had the assurances of Tanya and Alice that he would come back to her, but now that there's a threat, that's all flown out the window, and she will drag him back herself if she has to.
