Unfortunately, Bella has had to re-enter the "world" again. Tucked happily away with Edward all is well and much the same as ever. Now, she will begin to see how differently she will be treated by many. I have always believed that the truly wise women make sure they also keep those around them that will speak to them frankly and honestly. Your examples of all those things here are perfection! While Bella might have entered the kitchen before without fanfare,curiosity perhaps, but no fanfare, Isabella the Queeen can not. She will be Edward's bulwark! Bravo on this transitional chapter! It really does the job well!

I like the premise of this story but would like to help a little after reading the A/N at the bottom of this chapter. Yes, Devonshire is in the south. However Chatsworth house and Bolton Abbey are both in the north and are properties of the Devonshire estate, so though the official seat is not north (in fact is one of the more southerly counties of England) it is reasonable to assume the family could be living in one of their northern holdings at the time of your tale. You just have to edit the geography to read Derbyshire or Yorkshire to fit in. (Yorkshire would probably be best as Bolton Abbey is closer to the place the Pilgrimage of Grace started and Henry VIII slaughtered wholesale in the aftermath)

I like Rosalie's last attempt to show her position over her future queen. It had the desired affect.
Glad Alice was brought back to support her friend.
The audible gasps from the courtiers lends itself to the unexpected action of the coronation of their Queen on the same day as her wedding to their King.
Edward is very anxious to bed his new bride. Will he just complete the act so the observes can then be excused? Or will he get caught up in living his wife the way he has fantisized over the past weeks?
