Edward does not seem truly remorseful to ME. He just shows up at her house with a costume for Jax and expects . . . what? Halloween is a holiday - a special occassion and he used his daughter to weasel in on Bella and Jax. They both deserve an opportunity to FEEL what they feel about Edward separate from his daughter. By showing up without warning and without allowing Bella the chance to say NO, do not come over, he is once again showing that he does not put them anywhere near first. HE is first! His feelings, what is best for HIM comes first. He wants to be back together so he just shows up and let's her know they will be back together. What Bullshit.
And what is he going to say to her? There are no phones in Europe. I never had a millisecond to call. Europe does not have the internet . . . seriously, there were thousands of opportunitites to contact them - if not for Bella than for that little girl. Instead, selfish Edward was too 'wrecked' to do anything but focus on HIS needs and HIS feelings. Bella does not need that in her life!
And what a bullshit line from Esme that if Bella was in the same circumstance, she might have acted the same way! Seriously, I doubt it. Bella manages to think of people other than herself.
If Bella is going to get together with Edward again (which we all know will happen since it is an Edward/Bella story), it would be nice if he showed true remorse and had to REALLY demonstrate putting Bella and Jax before himself and his selfish needs/wants. He has not done that ONCE. Not once. She should date Peter for a while - let Edward's parents help out with Chelsea and let Bella focus on healing her heart and Jax's. Edward should have to see that Bella can live without him and her letting him into her life is a GIFT.
He treats it like a given - something he deserves in spite of the fact that he has not earned it . . . he needs to go through some tough life lessons first before they get together!!
And do not even get me started on Alice!! She KNEW Edward was coming over? Or at the very least, she knew he was at the house before Bella arrived!! She should have told Bella! Bella is her friend and has a chance to be happy with someone who is not a self-centered prick. Instead, she lets Bella and more importantly, Jax get blind-sided by Edward. Children need stability. As her mother, Bella deserved the chance to tell Edward that he was not (yet) welcome back into Jax's life . . . some friend Alice turned out to be!!

I do not review/comment on stories often . . . but this chapter really pissed me off. Edward leaves town without a WORD. Not even an email or a text message. He does not contact her or her daughter for WEEKS - again, not even an email . . . because he was 'freaked out' by the fact that his daughter might be alive. Sorry, but all that behavior says to me is that Rose's assesment for Edward was correct. He was using Bella and Jax as a replacement for his own girlfriend/daughter and once he found out his daughter might be alive, he pushed them aside and forgot about them.
How are Bella and Jax supposed to feel any other way? How can the rest of this story be written in a way that would justify Bella forgiving his totally unforgiveable behavior? I do not care how freaked out he was, he had thousands of opportunities to drop them even the simplest of lines - like, I don't know, when he was at the airport, waiting for his flight, or when he was waiting for the DNA results to come in. If he was too sheepish or embarassed to call - he could have emailed! If he really loved Jax and Bella, he would have done something.
Now, SHE goes to him (I wouldn't have gone since it meant being another person who abandons Jax, but hey that is just me) and Edward all "I love you," "I need you" . . . if I were Bella, I would tell him to FUCK OFF!!
He really, really hurt Jax (not to mention Bella). How are either of them supposed to ever feel like anything other than second class citizens around him? How can he possibly make up for not contacting them for WEEKS? If he really loved them even CLOSE to what he professes, he would have realized how damaging - emotionally and psychologically - not contacting them and vanishing from their lives would be for them. So he either does not love them or he is the most selfish piece of shit on the planet . . . either way, I would stay as far away from him as possible if I were Bella

Wow, I love it! I actually was a little leary of reading something that might be so melancholy or depressing, but this wasn't at all. I mean it's sad that Jake died and Bella has to raise their child alone, but I like the way that Jake is there to encourage her and not make her cry over him even more. He's like her cheerleader and I think that means that she will be able to move on easier.
Edward is definitely intriguing and I want to know more about his story. Is this whole thing going to be in Bella's POV or will we hear some Edward too? I love that there has been a little shift to canon - gay ben, Angela married to someone else, Esme as the hospital admin., Charlie and Renee still married, a daughter NOT name Renesmee (hee hee). I'm looking forward to what you have coming up.
How often do you plan to update? I am behind a couple chapters on Trip, but excited that I'll have more to look forward to from you! When's the next update?!
