I don't see how Esme can be saved. People die, then become zombies, right? Vera was bitten, her heart stopped, she died, then she became reanimated. I don't see how anyone can be brought back to life, especially after their blood has coagulated and junk.
Sheesh, why'd you have to go and kill sweet Esme?

I kind of wish you'd put the story on hiatus and let it go a little longer when you were up to it again. I've really been enjoying it and hate to see it end, but it's your call, obviously.

In general I hate reading unhappy endings, but I can totally respect an author who's willing to kill main characters for the plot. Not many are willing to do that so it always comes as a surprise when one dies.
Regardless of the outcome, if you're happy with the ending that's all that really matters. If you're not, you can always change it or write a sequel (if you haven't killed everyone by the end). (*nudge, nudge, wink, wink*)

So I'm bummed about Bella and Edward being dead but that's just because I'm a sap for those two. I would have loved to read more about the settlement and whatever happened with the vaccinations and the zombies. Thank you again for taking the time to share your story with the fandom. This is definitely one of favs, I've never before taken the time to post reviews on two sites just because I think the story deserves it. I really liked that you followed the different characters and didn't focus on just one. Those stories are fine, but I think you did a great job making this story more about a community of survivors rather than one person or couple surviving. If I could offer any advice, it would be this: Your characters have their own personalities but I think you could express them more, especially when writing in so many different points of view. Many of the character's voices sounded much the same. Thanks again, I really enjoyed it, H

I want to believe that Esme really loves Edward, but she feels she's failed him because he's followed his father's footsteps, but rather than blame Carlisle, whom she obviously adores, she blames Edward and has to essentially sedate herself to keep the reality of her situation from pulling her under. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. Maybe I'm just an optimist?
I guess it's a good sign that Edward's ready for a change; it makes change that much easier.
