i'm so glad that they were able to work things out. it's sad because this happens to so many marriages. with life and work and kids, sometimes, the passion and their own relationship gets put to the side.
After unexpectedly being given an antique desk and finding a letter written by Edward to his cousin over nine decades earlier in a hidden compartment, Bella, on a whim, decides to respond and starts them on a journey neither could have ever imagined.
Perhaps there are some things we aren't meant to understand, just accept....

i really love that you had tanya become charlie's mate. i kind of love the idea of father and daughter living happily together as vampires forever. i always felt bad that in canon, charlie would one day die while bella lived on, always feeling the loss of her father. with him becoming a vampire in the future, just like her, they don't have to part
i'm sad that edward forgot about her. i wonder what it will take to make him remember. she iwll have to show him the letters he sent her at one point. i don't know how that will come about... i wonder if edward ever talked to carlisle about bella. i don't think so, and if he did, it was probably in very vague terms. maybe edward can come across one of his descendents and be able to read their mind (since he can't read bella's), and find out that way??
it's a shame because bella never saw a picture of him so she wouldn't be able to recognize him. i wonder what happened to the picture she sent him.. was that part of the papers that got burned in the house fire?
i'm really looking forward to the next chapter. this has become one of my "drop everything and read" fics. it's soo good!

Edward mentioned Bella to Carlisle twice, just before his father's illness when he hadn't heard from her for a week and again after his father's death when Dr. Cullen came to the house. The second time was just before the epidemic hit, when Edward told him what Bella had told him about the flu. But only the second time did he mention her by name, and as you said, it was in vague terms. As far as Carlisle has ever known, Edward's friend Bella was a human living in 1918 who had an exceptional gift for precognition. However, Carlisle is one clever cookie....
I figured Renee had Bella during her human life, Charlie gets her for her vampire life. I always liked Tanya in the books. She's so often bashed in fics, that I wanted her to have a postiive role. She was the only one unmated at the end of the series, and I never liked Charlie and Sue Clearwater. She wasn't a big enough character in the series to care about her, and there is just something about hooking up with your friend's widow after only roughly a year after his death that was a bit of a squick for me. Thus, Charlie and Tanya.
It's very important that Bella never saw a picture of Edward, as you'll see in upcoming chapters.

i'm truly loving the charliextanya storyline and i wouldn't mind seeing more of it. it makes me so happy to see charlie in love. in my mind, charlie is a man who loves wholy and completely and it always made me sad to think of renee taking his daughter and leaving him in canon. i'm glad that in this version, this charlie has found his soul mate
i wonder when they'll begin to figure out bella's connection to edward, and how. i'm pretty sure the answer to that will be in the letters hidden in the secret compartment of the desk but i don't know how they'll find that..
this story is quickly becoming my 'drop everything to read' story and i love it so much! can't wait for the next update!

I feel the same way about Charlie, and I always wondered, but what if he knew? To know he'll never be left again, to know his daughter would never be left like he was.... There will be more Charlie and Tanya to come, but they are a side show to the main attaction - Edward and Bella.
I promise, I won't leave Edward hanging for longer. The next chapters take place in Forks, and *someone* starts connecting dots. So that gives you something to look forward to.
