I thought Jacob was very nice to look at in NM and Eclipse, but I couldn't deal with the fact that he was younger than her, so I aged him a bit. If Edward can be 107 the least we can do is have a legally adult Jacob as well. :)

But Bella is a fifteen year old girl and she's gonna make stupid decisions when everyone else can see that the one she should be making is staring her right in the face. Of course, her being the hard-headed girl she is doesn't help either. Keep yelling at her, darlin, maybe one of these days she'll listen. LOL

Poor clueless Bella. All the signs are there. He shushes somebody when she calls. He doesn't say 'I love you' back. Hardly ever wants to meet up with her. Something tells me she won't believe it unless she sees it with her own two eyes. Of course when that happens, she'll be heartbroken and take her anger out on everybody around her. *sigh* We're in for some rough weather, my dear.
I love that she's so focused (most of the time) with her job at the paper. If only she could be that confident and mature in her personal relationships.
Honestly, I can't wait to hear from Edward! He's been pining away, sending her love notes and she has no clue it's him! Kind of weird that he's hanging out with all those chicks. He needs to explain himself!

Edward was standing at the sink brushing his teeth, the muscles in his shoulder flexing as his arm moved. I reached out to run my fingers down the length of his spine before wrapping my hand around his waist and laying my head between his shoulder blades.
“I’m trying Edward, please don’t be mad at me” I could hear the air leave his lungs.
“Bella, I’m not mad at you. I am furious with a world that would allow so much hurt into your life. I want to take it all away, right now- today. I can’t and that makes me feel inadequate. But I know it’s going to take time and a lot of reassurance and baby…” He stopped abruptly.
“What?” I wanted him to finish his thought. But instead he turned around to face me.
“Nothing…” I knew there was something but I had no clue what it was. “…I told you last night I would give you all the time you needed, and I’m not going to push you, so…nothing. When you’re ready to let go of the shame you carry, you’ll tell me.”

“You…” Edward didn’t get to finish his statement because I continued to explain.
“On the way back, Sally was upset and we were talking and the phone kept ringing and interrupting us, so I turned it off.” He sat there with his head down running his hand through his hair for what seemed like forever before his eyes finally met mine again and he released a long sigh.

When I got back to Bella she was half awake thanks to Seth’s persistence, I sat on the edge of the couch looking down at her.
“Hey” my fingers ran along the line of her jaw.
“Hi. Do I smell food” I smiled at her
“You do. Are you hungry?”
“Starving” she admitted while she sat up “It’s weird because I ate lunch”
“Yeah well that was four hours ago and your body worked really hard on the way home” her lip went between her teeth while her face flushed pink. I chuckled at her response “What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking about my reward. I get a reward.” Bella’s whole face lit up and her eyes sparkled.
“That you do, what would you like?” I asked tucking a lock of hair behind her ear
“You” I looked into her eyes “You have me love.”
“Nooo…I want you” Bella flung herself at me straddling my lap with a force so hard she knocked me backwards on the couch.

We sat a little longer talking about some of the things she would like to do there. I had not been to Victoria in a long time and there were some new attractions that were possibilities for us to see. I thought it was a good time to bring up the extended stay at the beach. Bella seemed very opened to that possibility, made all the more attractive because both hotels allowed pets.
“When you talk to Alice would you get the name of the hotel so I can sort of figure out what the cost is going to be” The statement was harmless enough but my answer must not have been.
“I got it Bella you don’t have to worry about paying” her eyes narrowed
“Edward I’m not going to let you pay for the whole thing. We’re both going we’ll both pay”
“I’m the one that suggested the long trip, I got it” I watched as the resentfulness rolled across her face.
“This is not up for discussion, I’m paying my half”
What does she mean half are we going to split the cost of meals?
“Isabella be…” I didn’t get to finish, Bella’s eyes turned to pure fury

Bella pulled back after placing one more soft kiss against my lips to look in my eyes while her hips wiggled against my dick. She smiled as the hiss left my mouth. “Little Eddie wants to play hide and seek”

Picking up the first box I actually grunted because it was heavier than I thought it would be. After putting it on the table I turned around to see Bella carrying another one of the boxes.
“Isabella what are you doing?” I asked her while taking the box from her hand then realized the one she had was heavier then the first.
“I was carri…” I cut her off before she could finish
“I thought you had a fifteen pound weight limit”
“I do…” I stared at her in bewilderment

I think Bella's punishment was perfect. It gave her plenty of time to "think about what she's done wrong" as my mother would say. You're right, it is very much like time out. But with her history, a more physical punishment wouldn't end well.

Leaving out a long sigh I focused really hard on opening the twist tie that held the bread wrapper closed. Edward moved with me and as he passed by to get the wine out of the cooler his hand ran down the length of my arm. The extra sensation from his touch made my muscles clench tighter and I think I let out a whimper because Rose glanced at me with a smirked.

I should have expected that she would have a nightmare, the trauma of having our home invaded was enough to unnerve me, I can only guess what memories it stirred in her. Removing my shirt that was full of tears and dirty from her nose I laid back down with her head on my chest. “We’ll change the locks tomorrow and figure out who it was, that will make you feel safer. It was just a dream Bella, I swear I would die before I let anyone hurt you.”
“Don’t say that!”
I wasn’t sure what she was talking about when she abruptly shot her head up to look at me. “I couldn’t stand it if something happened to you. I couldn’t take it”
Even in the darkness of the room I could see the fierceness in Bella’s eyes as the tears fell down her face. “Nothing is going to happen to me, and nothing is going to happen to you. Now stop with the tears and lets go back to sleep”
Cupping her face my thumb wiped away the tears as she nuzzled her cheek against my palm before turning her head to placing a soft kiss in the center of my hand. “Do you think I’m crazy?”

Edward was pulling into the parking lot that was across the street from the main entrance. He didn’t say anything else until he held my door open for me taking my hand and pulling me closer to him. “I am sorry about my behavior”
I smiled at him “You girl forgives you”

Oh, I was never mad at Edward. All of my anger was reserved for Caius and Jessica.
I'm glad to see their bond is strengthing. They're able to talk through the things that need to be discussed. Although I was a little disappointed (but not surprised) that Bella didn't want to talk about what Jess did in the bathroom. I think Edward had a right to know upfront. Yes, she can take care of herself but Edward strikes me as the type of man who measures his worth by how well protected and treated his sub is. How will he know if he needs to step up if she holds out on him?

Excusing myself I went into the kitchen to check in dinner, everything was done so after pulling the chicken out of the oven - to allow it to rest - I started putting the other stuff into serving bowls. The sound of the kitchen door swinging open made me turn to see who was there, and I smiled as Aro joined me.

Wow what can I say? So many amazing things are happening in this chapter.
First, I want to say no one should be complaining about chapter length. The way I see it is readers are fortunate to be able to read amazing stories like yours and other author's on this site. So a chapter is a little short, you got a quick update. Say you got an update that was later than what you're use to; I know as a writer, I try to make up for it by turning out a kick ass chapter ASAP.
That being said, I was amazed at this chapter. I loved Cauis' backstory with his hybrid mate. So cool.
Then there was that hot marking going on in school. Hot!
Then Ben and Angela... sad about his folks, great that they're together, they're so sweet together :) I gotta tell you I was surprised that he claimed her like that... I know it happens in your world, but when I think of Ben and Angie I think "wholesome". It proves my point that you have to watch out for the quiet ones ;)
And the thing with Mike-- uber creepy. At least now I know who's behind everything.

This chapter was soooo sweet! Thanks for it. My dad lost his mother (a wonderful lady I never got to meet), so when I was little he always celebrated Mother's Day by doting on my Mom. I used to think it was weird when daddy's went to see their mothers instead of doing the things like my dad did. Guess I was too young to understand. He always buys her roses, Just like Emmett did.
