This story is a pleasure to read. You twist and turn and always, I try to think ahead and see what's coming. I usually fail miserably and for that I applaud you. Fiction that is easy to foresee is easy to write. You always leave me guessing, hurting, outraged at a character, and so many other emotions. Thank you for that! Absolutley brilliant!! I usually pride myself at noting foreshadowing, but not here. You took me totally by surprise here. Bravo! Power plays are always tricky and messy in setting such as this one. I refuse to count our girl down yet though... Just like I have a feeling Jarpr will turn up again. My favorite characters? The Queen of course, Yakov (because you made him so hate-able!), Leif, ( because you completely snowed me by thinking he was one type of character only to rip off the disguise and find another) and Jarpr. No matter what, you just feel that he is genuine, loving, and committed. I will be biting my nails until I can read your next chapter! Bravo and kudos for an amazing piece of fiction!!

Ahhhh ..... Thank you so much! :-) I was hoping people would love to hate Yåkov so that's awesome. :-) I think Izabel is going to need to really rethink everything after this chapter. Will she get up and brush herself off or will she fall to pieces? I don't count her out yet either and can't wait to share with you what happens next.

We are in what I like to call the "questions" part of the story - which is a lot of the story. There are lots of little things that you may or may not notice as odd or wonder why they happened, etc. Things like why Jarpr and Leif had some tension, will be addressed in the second half of the book (Chapter 22 starts giving us some answers - some obvious and some not).

Okay, so I read your review last night and have been thinking and thinking on how best to respond. Should I be professional and keep my emotions in check? Should I be totally honest and tell you how I practically yelled at work? Or should I be something else altogether? ;-) Sometimes, I have a difficult time responding to reviews because I don't want to make assumptions or seem overly friendly and or any of that. But I must admit, you guys are bringing me out of my shell. So I'll be totally honest.
I work with people everyday - not a huge difference from what I've done for the past four and half years, but the environment is quite different and as such, some of my personality is put away on a shelf for 8-9 hours a day. I had about two hours left at work and my phone trilled an alert that I had a new email. Any day I update a new chapter I become keenly aware of every single email that comes in, and of course that day was no different. Discreetly, I pulled out my phone out and saw, "TWCS: "New Review at TWCS for Ginnungagap" and I could not help but make this excited sound. Of course, my co-workers looked at me like I was a bit nuts so I excused myself to my office and closed the door. I read your review and then re-read it and then re-read it again. I was incredibly flattered and just HAD to call my husband and read your review to my husband. I was tempted to print it out and hang it from my desk.
And I just want to say to FILE1013 - I had a very simiular reaction when I read YOUR review as well. And well, had my printer been working (ugh the wonderfulness of moving) then I would have printed both reviews and placed them in view on my desk. So, there's always the chance either of you or anyone may read this and think, "Geez, she sure is a talker!" But I really wanted to convey my gratitude to both of you for the gracious reviews. Of course, I am always grateful for every review, but the two of you made me really feel like my story is one of "those" stories. You know the ones where you can't wait for another update? If you're looking for any recommendations, I have to say one of "those" stories I read that was fantastic was "I Remain Yours" by mamatu and can be found here on TWCS and on Twilighted.net AND is complete so you don't have to wait for updates.
I apologize for the lengthy reply, but thank you again. And now, I will return to writing Chapter 16. Currently sitting at almost 4,000 words and I CANNOT wait to read everyone's reactions. It's another chapter I'm sitting on the fence about, "should this be revealed now? Is it too soon?" If I release it as is now .... well you'll just have to wait. ;-)

Just wanted you to know that I love this story and all the twists and turns. After you read enough FanFiction (not to mention regular books) sometimes I find it hard to be surprised or thinking "wow - not what I expected" I love that about this story. I enjoy reading a story that takes place in a setting completely outside the usual "big City/high school, etc" and still see the characters in them. It just goes to show that you really understand the characters and their motivations. Keep up the great work.
PS - i have stalked this story since I found it. Running from site to site to see if it was updated and I missed it!!

I am still working on this story, but the past few weeks have been filled with moving preparations and the big move just occured this week. Thank you for the review! I was beginning to worry no one was reading along anymore. There has been some quirk when updating existing stories to TWCS and it should still email you when the story is updated, but I have to email the staff for them to manually update it in the "Most Recent" category. No plans for abandoning this story, I've just been very busy lately with school, work, and my family. I'm on a break from school right now so I'm trying to write as much as possible on my days off. :) Chatper 15 is already in the process of being written. :)

Ah, I see how that could be misunderstood. I'll edit that paragraph for clarification. It was Yakov (husband) who had raped her on their wedding night. When Jarpr was above her, holding her down it created a flashback in her mind and all she could remember was the feelings and fear she had felt on her wedding night. It's why even though she knew it was foolish, she continued to fight Jarpr. Does that make sense?
