Seriously though, I'm absolutely loving this, Wisp is such a cutie! I'm so angry with myself for reading about her past, but you know what? I'm kind of glad that there is no good person in her life before Edward, too often I read about an abused characters past and there is always one companion with them the whole way through, or someone to help them escape or they started off with a happy family. It sounds cruel to say I'm glad but sometimes realism is better to read than a made up world forever followed by a silver lining.
Sorry, getting a bit carried away... Main point: you are awesome. Nuff said.

Lol, never apologize for getting "carried away" in a review! I love hearing what people think! :) And IDK about the cliffhangers...I don't set out to do it intentionally, it just sort of happens. Oh, you read her past? I did warn people that it was dark. I think it's interesting that now readers have that choice of two different reading experiences - one with a little more mystery, the other with a little more understanding of what she's been through.
I agree with you - I like that she doesn't have any good people in her past. Not just because it's sadly realistic for a lot of people, but also because it means she won't need/want to "blend" an old life with the new. She can have a fresh start with Edward and leave the past in the past. Thanks for such a sweet review!

I think Edward is already falling a little in love with her. I don't think that's bad or pervy. She's obviously a woman and he can see intellegence behind her eyes. Love can be pure and honest without getting gross. While I'd be find either way I wouldn't mind a slow burn or them eventually finding each other. Her discovering her womanhood and what that means. Seeing how it can be a powerful strength instead of it being used against her. I can't think of a better partner for her than Edward once she realizes what that all is. He is Wisperward afterall! :)
Okay, so now that I'm addicted to two of your stories I'm going to have to go digging into your other stories. I've never read any Glee fanfic but I do like the pairing of Rachel and Jesse so maybe I'll try one of those. Or maybe the Wisp back story. I'm totally a back of the book peeker! ;)

Interesting comment. Idk if Edward's falling in love yet, though I'll def. agree that there's emotion there. My goal is to keep it as non-pervy as possible! Like I said, I'm happy to play around the edges of squickiness, but I really can't write noncon as romance, even though I know others are fine with it.

I'm not worried about romance or lemons. I think you are doing wonderfully with the story so far and I agree that if it comes, it needs to not be for awhile. I know anything can happen in a fictional world, and that's the justification a lot of authors use, but things still need to be rooted a bit in real life to be believable or it takes your head out of the story. I can't tell you how many 'crazy Edward is in love with Bella stories so he abducts her' stories I've read where within a day she's all sympathetic to him and wanting to heal and love him. I mean, I could see getting to that point eventually if it's written well but to do it so fast is beyond unrealistic and makes me unable to read. So I totally agree with how slow you are going. It would be nice for her to get to that point though, if for no other reason than it means she's better and healed/healing!

Unfortuantely crap like this did happen back in the day. :( Look up the Baby Albert experiements. So fucked up. What makes me sad is that there are actually people out there who do this to others. There are women and girls enslaved all over the workd. If there is a god, there is a special place in hell for the people who do this to othes. :(
And I love that he calls her Wisp. It makes me think of Rainbow Bright. :)

Making the right choices is harder and requires bigger efforts bu it's always for the best. Mr. Williams had't had the chance to take one of these decisions, but now that he has, I'm certain he will feel so good aout it and himself.
There's o doubt now how good Edward is for Wisp. Sadly it is't enoug,mlosof red tape has to be handled, and it will, as Scott said "pronto"

Hey, read over this chapter, and I understand why you want to keep the identification of her a mystery, but in real life, there are databases set up for identification of missing persons. It would be quick to ID her with a simple DNA swab or a fingerprint match in the missing person's database.
