I suspect Edward may be Emmett's brother. I have many thoughts about why he might have left the family and why he is homeless, but nothing concrete. I really hope Emmett doesn't scare him away with his enthusiasm. It is a great idea for Bella to go along with Emmett to meet Edward, since Edward may feel a bit more comfortable with her there.
