Howdy. I'm the ikss (pronounced "eye kiss" or "I kiss") and I'm a singer/songwriter who also writes poetry, short stories, essays, highly entertaining emails and yes, I blog at http://ikss.typepad.com. I'm a bit older than your average Fan-Fic-Fanatic, but not so old that I have abandoned my innate debauchery and wild ways. I live in So Cal (in the OC, actually. Please don't hate me).

While I liked the Twilight stories and the characters, I enjoyed the movies and like most sane people with hormones I find the Cullen men (and Charlie!)—each of them in their own way—to be deliciously drool-worthy, we could seriously get in to a conversation which lasts about three days about Stephenie Meyer and her writing. Truth be told, I am far more interested in and addicted to all of the fan fiction I have discovered since essentially stumbling across Wide Awake by AngstGoddess003 in early '09. I just think it's fabulous that so many people have been inspired to turn on their creative juices and some of the writing I have found is truly wonderful.

After spending far too many years separating the nonsense from the bugshit in Corporate America, I lost my job in September of 2009 (along with millions of other Americans, sadly). I have decided to use that loss as an opportunity to overhaul my life and see what I can really accomplish with this writing thing when I devote myself to it. To that end, I am very excited to be working on a novel which I hope to shop around for publication by late-Fall, 2010.

To clarify, since I have been asked: I have no plans to pull The Cocky and The Cougar or any of my fics in order to rework them for publication. The fanfiction I write is just that. I use it to have fun and to practice my writing skills. The works I mean to publish are not posted anywhere on the internet.
