i remain

After unexpectedly being given an antique desk and finding a letter written by Edward to his cousin over nine decades earlier in a hidden compartment, Bella, on a whim, decides to respond and starts them on a journey neither could have ever imagined.

Perhaps there are some things we aren't meant to understand, just accept....

This story will eventually contain character death.

Dear Momatu,

I can't thank you enough for this wondeerful story. It's as if I'm finally getting to know Edward as a human and his entire family... this is so moving and beautifully written. I am so attached to the characters. I confess this chapter, when I read of Bella learning that Edward did not survive the flu pandemic, had me in tears, many tears. So sad and so touching.

I also love that you alerted me to David and the "Hope for David" FB page (it is under "Hope for David" and not "Hope for David 2012" by the way, but I found it. I "liked" his page and left a comment of support, and also posted a link to the page on my FB account wall (MelbieToast) and urged my friends to go to David's page and "like" it as well, and pass the word. Since I have over 1,800 friends on FB, I hope it helps in getting David more supporters from FB. Do you have a FB account? I would love to send you a friend request. I also have over 1,500 tumblr followers, and some 800 twitter followers, do you want me to post a link to Hope for David on tumblr and I could post one of his photos from his page as well.

Thank you again for your wonderful story, I'm so in love with 1918 Edward... and you gave us all a look into how horrific the flu epidemic really was.

I remain,

Your Friend,

Melbie

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for liking David's page!  I don't facebook.  Technically, I do have a facebook page, but I never go on it.  The only reason I created it was to monitor my kids pages - which pissed them off to no end when the found out about it.  "Mom, that's, like, private!"  On line for the entire planet to see, but they think it's private....  "You don't trust us!"  I trust my kids, I do.  It's the other 7 billion people on the planet who I don't trust.

Thanks so much also for posting the link to Davids fb page on your wall.  (I think I know what that means.)  I don't know about posting his photo, though.  I wouldn't want to say yes without asking his mother, and she's a bit busy at the moment.  He's doing very well.  Eating solid food, and the doctor's are considering an early discharge!

Thanks for reviewing!
