Summary: Past Featured Story

i remain

After unexpectedly being given an antique desk and finding a letter written by Edward to his cousin over nine decades earlier in a hidden compartment, Bella, on a whim, decides to respond and starts them on a journey neither could have ever imagined.

Perhaps there are some things we aren't meant to understand, just accept....

This story will eventually contain character death.

I am loving your manuscript. Just to remind you the titanic sank not the carpathia. The carpathia rescued stragilers from the titanic.

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you like it!

While Bella's world is set in 2009 (there is a reason for that, which you will see in time) I kept Edward's world in 1918 according to canon, so it's been six years in his world since the Titanic sunk.  As were many oceanliners, the Carpathia was used for military purposes during WW1.  The Carpathia was used by the Canadian Expeditionary Force as a troopship transporting both Canadian and American soldiers to Europe and was sunk on July 17, 1918, by a German U-boat, that's what I was referring to.  That was, coincidentally, the same day Czar Nicholas and his family were executed.  Bella is using those two things, which will happen in a few weeks in Edward's time, as proof that she's from the future.  Both of Titanic's sister ships were also used by the military during WW1, like the Carpathia, the Olympic was used as a troopship, while Britannic was used as a hospital ship.  Britannic was sunk by an underwater mine on November 21, 1916.
