And I think I wouldn't tell someone I'm not that close to at the moment that he's my exclusive friend with benefits or somehting along those lines. All the more I wouldn't to it in a crowded restaurant. Edward chiming in and answering would have been great but he's still afraid to push her. That's why he didn't. You asked for our thoughts, so here goes. I really love this story BUT, I think you are feeling more sympathetic to Jake than I am. I am really angry that he stayed away from visiting his dad for 8 years! All because he was afraid he'd run into Bella? WTH? She doesn't even live in Forks any longer. It seems like he was blaming her for him staying away. IMO, he has still not fully manned up to his mistakes. Bella needs to look at this from Edward's point of view. She confessed to him that Jake devastated her emotionally and all of sudden, while Edward is on a business trip. Jake pops back in and all is forgiven? He was blindsided. He hates Jake for what he did to Bella, but Bella is not acknowledgimg that. I am not forgeting that they are still "just friends": I would be upset if anyone treated my friend that way! I don't want to forgive Jake and I don't think Edward would either. Just my 2 cents. On with the story!
Author's Response: Thanks! I always appreaciate every opinion, even if it's opposed to mine ;). I'm definitely feeling a lot more sympathetic to Jake than all of you. That's because I know his thoughts and you don't. I totally get why none of you like him. He's not an easy character. Bella didn't just forgive Jake like that. Edward helped her to overcome her fears and be happy again. That's why she's able to forgive. Most of her hurt came from still loving Jake. She doesn't love him anymore. That makes it easier for her. And she knows she has to bury her grudge to be able to move on with Edward. Edward will eventually forgive Jacob. At least he'll have reason to thank him some time later ;). I hope you'll be back next week although you're not happy with where the plot is going right now.

I hope that, "I can't" means I can't go out with you!! Worst idea EVER!! That whole make up date he proposed just pissed me off more. Wham bam not-even-a-thank-you-m'am and NOW he thinks a dinner will somehow make up for that?? I should have taken you out for a dinner before I screwed you and then immediately told you I regretted it and walked out on you? TWICE?? No, no, no, no, NOOO!
Seriously, I am normally a non-violent person, but I want Edward to pound this guy! I want Bella to stand up for herself and say, "No, Jacob," for once!! She is still letting him control their relationship like she did years ago, just in a different way. He was no friend if he did what he did and took eight freaking years to apologize-which I still don't think he did adequately. He is not a friend no to think that Bella can pick right back up with their relationship because he thinks she should without taking into consideration how she felt and what she did to herself for YEARS. He just wants to feel better about himself. He doesn't care about Bella. He's selfish. I am so glad Edward told her exactly what he thought about Jake. I hope points out to her exactly what I have said so she can realize what an ass Jacob has been to her. She was wrong to go to the hockey game, especially if she doesn't like hockey! That hurt Edward. She is dense if she can't see that any man in Edward's shoes would see that as her choosing Jake over him!
This is the longest review I have ever written. I hate, loathe and despise the character of Jacob. That doesn't mean I will quit reading the story...unless you have Bella sleep with him again, in which case I will probably shoot my computer. I really can't wait to see what happens next.
Author's Response: Wow! I feel honored to receive your longest review ever. I see where you all come from and I'm amazed by the amount of emotion the story stirrs with you all. Just Wow! Okay, most important thing first, there will be no sleeping with Jacob!!! Edward and Bella have their exclusivity deal and neither of them is going to break it. But the subject will come up next chapter. Bella knows exactly what she wants, and it's not being with Jacob in any romantic or sexual capacity. She wants her old friend but nothing more. But she might be fooled by his intentions, just saying. Jake has an ulterior motive for inviting Bella to dinner but I can assure you it's sincere and not at all shady. AND he's not interfering in her relationship with Edward like many readers think because as far as he knows, and he only knows what Bella told him, Edward's not her boyfriend, so she's actually fair game if he decided to persue her. Bella went to the game because Edward made it clear she should and she already promised Alice. But you're right, maybe she should have backed out after all. Edward is actually acting like a woman. You know, the way we sometimes say yes and mean no and actually expect men to understand and know what we really want. And Bella's acting like most men would, meaning she doesn't understand that Edward's actually trying to tell her not to go. But the way I created him, he really wants Bella to go because he thinks it'll make her happy. Anyway, after next chapter a lot of things will be clear, they will be out of limbo and I think most of you are in for a shock. I can see some jaws drop in the future. See you on Sunday.

Well, you have been hinting that Jacob was going to do something noble, so I'm guessing that it's him telling Edward he is wrong. However, in Edward's defense, Bella has just been stupid about Jacob. You just don't throw the old lover in the new lover's face like she has been doing without expecting a little blowback. Edward saw them together and he was very hurt. He had a few (or a lot) of drinks and said things to hurt Bella. Not nice, but understandable. I think Bella should have given Jacob a knee to the groin when he tried to kiss her. There should have never been any contact there. Edward is going to apologize and I hope Bella is going to accept that apology without making him grovel.

Well, in this chapter, I am all Team Edward. That was a crappy thing Bella did to him. First of all, why didn't she tell him about FL so he could apply there too? She was not a good friend at all. She is so using him now. I can't wait to see if you can manage to make her seem more sympathetic.

Hi Romance! Yeah you and about most of the readers are on Edward's side, lol. I can understand why. See because I am only telling this story in Edward's pov poor Bella seems to be the villian here. I never meant to paint her in that way :( I explained in the chapter she didnt tell him about Florida because she wasnt sure if she would get accepted. Edward was already accepted to U of W with a full scholarship. Bella didnt want him to give up that opportunity to live with her in Florida. Of course she wanted to be with him and for them to stay together but she didnt want him to give up his opportunites for her. Yeah, I guess as far as her sneaking around with Edward and them cheating on the people they are with, it looks like she is using him. Hmm, hopefully I can get you all to change your minds a bit about Bella. But Im not sure if that will happen considering many readers are angry with her, lol.
