This one is going to take a long time though. I've been working on this for over a month now and I only have two chapters. It's taking a lot of planning to try to figure out how to twine everything together and how to slowly release the info. It takes a lot more out of me to write too. The other one's just for fun, but this one is serious. I'm also trying to write it in a way that I might be able to convert it for publishing down the line...possibly...we'll see. :)

I'm so glad you liked it! You wouldn't believe how much trouble this chapter gave me!
I wanted the epilogue to really be just Edward and Bella--let you know what was going on with the others, but "off page" so to speak.
The current day Masens were who enabled the whole story to happen by saving the desk and passing it on when Bella showed up, so I thought it was only fair to end everything with them knowing that Edward and Bella are together. Edward and Bella basically walking off into the sunset with the Masens looking on.... (Okay--it was cloudy, no sunset, but still.) That was exactly how I wanted to end it.
I'm both thrilled and sorry it's finally finished, but I've got two new stories in the works, and I'm glad to hopefully have a little more time to work on them.

You're one of the very few people to comment on how Edward feels. I really like that. Most people comment on Bella, but very few people acknowledge the position Edward is in or how he must feel. Exactly, To Turn Or Not To Turn, that is the question. But like Edward is forced to admit, there is only one answer. Gotta love those loopholes when they work in your favor, right?

That was definitely what the call from Alice was about. I don't think she saw that the sun would be out when they came out of the movie earlier because they hadn't decided on a movie--there was the boys choice of the action movie also. If that movie ran 10 or 15 minutes later than the romantic comedy the girls wanted, they'd have missed the sun completely. Once they'd decided, she saw it, but by then Edward had turned off his phone. Bella is fiercely protective of Edward, having failed to protect him once already--in her mind. That protectiveness will play a major role in the remaining chapters once the truth comes out.

I knew it would be a fire that forced his hand from day one. I wanted something that would be just as much of a threat to him as it was to her, which car accidents, thugs, and bears just aren't. And I knew exactly what I wanted Bella to say, the "You jump, I jump." I wanted her to show her absolute trust in him. Edward is being a bit of an idiot, but I really put him through an awful lot. How much can one poor vampire take in a single afternoon? As for Bella, she's got the rest of the Cullens around her. Check out the teaser for chapter 38 and you'll see what I mean!

I don't think it was as much "outta sight, outta mind" as she's removed from the danger by simply not being there. Bella gets so caught up in the danger of Victoria that she forgets the everyday dangers out there. The way they just basically left Renee hanging in canon never sat right with me. Not to sound cold, but I wanted a clean break. I also really wanted both of them to have to experience what the other did. Even if Edward can't remember it, he knows he went through it.
I'm glad you like it. I wanted to keep all the key elements from the series, but I didn't want to just rewrite them as they already had been written.

Actually, it's canon Jacob I never trusted. He kisses Bella against her will, then after finding out she's going to marry Edward, he manipulates her into kissing him again by telling her he's going to go off and get himself killed because she doesn't want him, knowing Edward will hear.
The teaser for chapter 42 is up on Fictionators. I don't want to give more away, but I will say it was one of my favorite scene's to write.

I'm so glad you liked it! I really wanted to show just how deep Bella's need to protect Edward was, both from Victoria and Aro. One of my reviewers compaired Bella to a mosquito. Victoria didn't consider her a threat, just like we don't consider mosquitos a threat--until they bite us and we get West Nile or Malaria.
