Very glad to see an update! This was a great chapter for showing how Aro has manipulated those in the "family" - warning them of danger, allowing them to think they are well taken care of. And encouraging people to come to him if they are troubled by something they've been told. Esme never had a chance in sharing that secret. And to be punished for it? What greater way to ensure her renewed silence?

So Aro took a special liking to her, too? Nice. I am SO glad she got the nerve to tell Carlisle, and that they want to protect Bella.

Now, those "vitamins" certainly don't sound like any vitamin I've ever heard of. And Alice - I wonder what ceremony Aro was refering to? You always leave me hanging!

I hate that he's hurting her, and the thought that he thinks she wants this makes me want to vomit... But you write this so well!

As soon as Mike was bothering her, I suspected he might be James' next victim - the costume clinched it for me -something James could wear undetected...

Loved their Halloween costumes, but Jessica was such a bitch! Add her to James' hit list for sure!

I'm sure he somehow set up the distraction for Edward and the others, too. Where were the other girls when James made his appearance? I cannot even begin to imagine the terror and sense of helplessness Bella is going through.

I had so much fun picking out the Halloween costumes.  Don't you just love how Mike can't take a hint?  Too bad he had to learn that lesson the hard way.  Yes, James set up the distraction.  I didn't mean to leave Rose and Alice's whereabouts out.  I need to edit that in.  They were there, but figuring it was Mike in the costume they didn't pay much attention to what was going on between him and Bella.

First, I loved the lemon. It was beautiful and perfect for them.

Now. Edward loaded the bags the night before and you made me worried that perhaps James put something in there to track them. His text could have been to give them a false sense of security.

Having said that, I loved the chapter. Great job!

YES! I have been waiting for Aro to arrive!! A short chapter, but so much in it! First, I truly feel for Carlisle. He does not take this lightly, and while he certainly does bear some responsibility, I hate that he is carrying it all on his shoulders. Laurent & James worked the system. Carlisle always had good intentions.

I am so pleased to see him doing everything he can to keep everyone else safe. He truly cares for his students, and I hope he'll be able to reopen the school safely one day.

Second, Rosalie and Emmett - I completely understand how the door was forgotten given their exit. I hate that they feel guilty as well.

Thirdly, ARO!! I mentioned in a review a long time ago that I suspected there was some type of relationship betwixt Aro & James, and you told me I wasn't off-track. I am SO waiting to see exactly how he fits into everything!!

Edward's discussion with Jasper was heartbreaking. There is good in him, but his self-assessment was fairly accurate for who he was. Jasper was right, though. Bella loves him. And he IS changing and trying. Reading about poor Alice just tore at my heart.

If it's Carlisle, you just know Demetri is going to tell him what Bella said, and then Carlisle may well decide that since she's already "ruined", she's fair game. Oh, please don't leave us hanging for long

Thank you for not giving them a pat ending. I knew you wouldn't, but I just wanted you to know that I appreciate it. That would not have been reality. This - being deconstructed and stripped down through therapy? This is reality.

And now we know what she was thinking. Wow. I didn't realize that James started the night she arrived... Five months of it? No wonder she jumped. I can appreciate that seeing someone she knew only as her future husband - who had not only condoned her "training", but PAID for it as well? Yeah, just wanting to have it stop would drive anyone to such an act.

So she was in a life of luxury before her parents - if one could call them that - died. And they left her with nothing? Nice. I can understand her attitude toward Esme as well. Why hope, when you are so completely trapped?

Her silence spoke volumes. But that little bit of hope at the end also speaks loudly.

Short but powerful. Her thoughts and attempt to escape broke my heart - and her reaction to Jasper was even more devastating. However, it was Jasper's response to everything that was the worst. His attitude toward her - the idea that she shouldn't be crying, that she can fix his arm and then make breakfast... ouch.

But he didn't raise his hand to her, at least. I like that she was comforted, almost against her will, by Jasper - a bit of the empath coming out, I see. Looking forward to the next chapter!

I wonder what was "so close" in the car - although I do have my suspicions on that. Edward isn't doing the best job on wooing Bella right now, is he?

It was nice to get into Esmee's head - she has such love for her family. The hinted intimacy between she and Carlisle was a beautiful touch.

I loved how Alice so completely overwhelmed Bella - too funny, and well done. So now Bella is curled up with Edward - will he wake her up to send her home to Charlie, or be unable to resist keeping her? LOL

Half of them are ready to stone me in the village square. lol  I'm glad you recognize what she's trying to do. Her gut instinct is to protect Edward the only way she can think of at that moment.

The growl was an unexpected but welcome, creative twist. Nicely done! I don't recall losing faith, I was more concerned with just how far Bella would have to take things to see her ruse through successfully. I liked the quick resolution much better than my angst-filled imaginings!

I wanted to try something a little different with the growl/mating call. My vamps will be more in touch with their animalistic side and not afraid of it. They're very comfortable and confident in who and what they are. I'm glad it was well received. Bella is going to see more of hot, sexy vampire Edward in the next chapter. Yummy!
