Ok, so, I know I'm only on Chapter 2, but I just had to leave a note and let you know that this story is unbelievably awesome. I'm such a fan of the historical contexts- even at this point, it comes off as being very well thought out. And I love Bella's attitude: why worry about my loser ex-boyfriend when I know there's so much more out there?
And this paragraph:"..This desk, just look how hard it's been used. You can just feel it. Look at the drawers; you can tell they've been opened and closed thousands of times. It's banged up and the leather is stained. It's not in pristine or mint condition, but it's alive. Someone could have sat at this desk and written to a soldier during World War One." Totally gave me chills- I have actual goose bumps right now from that.
And I think it's beyond cool that you wrote your great aunt into the story.
And now I'm off to keep reading!

I'm so glad you like it! Historical fiction is my favorite. I just love reading about how different everything was. I did a lot of research while writing this to keep Edward's world as reall as possible - over 60+ pages worth of notes, mostly on the epidemic. Not 100%, but for the most part, if it happens around Edward, it really did happen.
Once you're all caught up, teasers are available on Twigasm (Sunday), Fictionators (Teaser Mondays), and TwiFicCentral (Twi Fic Bites Teasers - Wednesdays) for chapter 17, and I'm going to try to join the teaser campfire on A Different Forest on Monday!
