Oh Edward, he really needed to take a step back and dug deep into himself and sort out what exactly was he after because there was so much anger in him.  He was used by Jane and her friend when he had his first sexual encounter.  He was too young to understand and cope with the emotional aftermath as a result he just used women and sex to let out his frustration. 

I think what Bella really wanted was Edward but she was put off by his cold demeanour.  Falling into a relationship with Jasper just because it was cosy and comfortable would just make both of them unsatisfied at the end.

I was half way through this story and imagine my surprise when I could not find this in the ff site, it's a good job that you post here as well.

This is perfect first date and Edward was so sweet.
