Why the hell hasn't the FBI searched the rest of the property yet? They would have found the letters. What about any of the other workers? And, I think the Kindle may save the day. Some of them have GPS trackers. The Cheif (asshole) probably doesn't know that.
Man, the only issue with waiting for the next chapter is worrying about the kids.
