this story is great and even though it was a little difficult at times it was still great to read. i just have a little questions though.
it sounded like carlisle never even really wanted to marry esme in the first place, but what made her stick out to him as someone he would marry?
how much did emmett, jasper, and edward know about what carlisle did to esme and the extent of what he put her through? and did they know he was punishing her for alice, bella, and rosalie not serving them anymore?

i was wondering, since in a previous chapter it was revealed that charlie was jealous of everything carlisle had, and in this chapter he was constantly watching esme and seemed to be eager to "train" her, did he want her like carlisle wanted renee? especially since he was also jealous of the fact that carlisle already had 3 sons?

Thank you for reading my story. Charlie didn't want Esme for herself, but as a way to have something that was Carlisle's. In his twisted mind it elevated him that Carlisle would share Esme with him. Carlisle cared nothing for Esme and hoped that by sharing her, Charlie would return the favor and agree to share Renee with him. Charlie never did though. He knew Carlisle wanted her so it gave him power in his mind. It's why he was so quick to offer Bella.

this story is so great....i'm addicted. but when you're done writing this would you consider doing a story about carlisle & esme in this story, like the beginning of their relationship and having emmett and stuff?
For those of you who read "The Perfect Wife" this takes place twelve years after the epilogue. You do not need to read TPW, but an understanding of the story is helpful.
Carlisle ran a human trafficking ring. He was an abusive husband and father. Esme suffered cruel and horrific atrocities at her husband’s hand. Her sons, Emmett, Jasper and Edward were raised to treat her no better than a slave; undeserving of love and respect. Rosalie, Alice and Bella are brought into this life as their wives and together these women fight to change their outlook on life and women. At the end of TPW, Em/J/E have learned to change and passionately love and respect their wives. Carlisle is finally killed when he attempts to hurt Bella, freeing Esme from a lifetime of abuse. His will stated he wanted to be cremated so his ashes would remain with his family, forever a symbol of his power over his family. Esme refuses to let him control her life any longer and takes his urn from the house returning empty-handed hours later. TPW was Bella and Edward’s story. This is Esme’s story.

i really liked this o/s..it definitely gave more insight to the character and how she dealt with everything. but i wasnt sure what you meant by this line
I sat on the edge of my bed and pinched my arm, wincing at the pain. I looked down at the red mark on my left arm and rubbed it to relieve the sting. I've been doing that a lot lately; every time I prepared a meal that I wanted to eat,
why wouldnt she be able to eat something she prepared if carlisle was dead and she was free?
and also i was wondering if you could share what you changed the characters names to...just curious

I'm glad you liked it. She pinches herself to be sure she isn't dreaming. Her nightmare of 30 years living with Carlisle is over. It took a while for the reality that it was really over to sink in. She lived 30 years in an abusive marriage. The instinct to look over your shoulder or follow known patterns is hard to break after that long. It surprises her everytime she does something she wants that there's no reprecussions.
