Again, I must say that Bella is EXTREMELY petty, selfish, & immature. She's certainly not wife material right now, or anything else, for that matter. Edward NEEDS to be the mafia boss that he is & put his foot down majorly with her or give her an ultimatum. She's the spoiled type that if you give her an inch, she'll take a mile, which she already has. Typical princess drama queen. The longer this is allowed to continue, it's only going to make things worse.
Don't get me wrong, I feel sympathy for what she's went through with her family, but she NEEDS to realize that none of that was Edward's fault & that he has only tried to help her from the very beginning while having to take A LOT of unecessary crap from her. Granted, he might not handle everything the right way, but she needs to see that like her, he's not perfect either. She also needs to realize the he had to clean up all of the mess that HER father/family left behind, as well as take over NY because of it, which took time. Yes, he was wrong for avoiding her for so long, but in some ways, I can't really blame him. Everything seems to be on his young shoulders, while nothing but self-pity & petty anger is on her's. She could have a great life with him, if only she'd grow up, talk it out, & handle things better.
To be honest, if I were Edward, I'd be seriously tempted to divorce her, & send her on her merry, lazy way. Let her be her own or someone else's problem, from now on. There's plenty of women who would probably kill to take her place...just like her sister almost did. She'd do well to remember that.

Your first reaction is usually the right one. Bella needs to start trusting her instincts & stay far away from that Maggie, as well as Liam. She needs to start telling Edward things & trust him. If she feels uneasy about Liam, then there's probably a good reason. And I don't think Liam should've put his hands on Bella in Maggie's defence. Touching the boss's lady that way in the mafia, & then going into her room is a BIG no-no! If she wanted to pull that bitch's hair & throw her out, the that's her prerogative. Unless Bella's being hurt, he should've never intervened. Same goes for Nora too. And WHY was Maggie sitting in Bella's house without her there? Both Nora & Liam need a stern talking to! I don't trust Nora either. The sweet little old lady act only goes so far. I don't like that she's making Bella's dog practically useless. It sounds pretty intentional. Edward needs to set some examples, starting with Liam & Nora.

I totally disagree with Jasper. He had no right to do that! And Edward, who is supposed to be alpha now, shouldn't let anyone sway his instincts to protect his mate, whom both E&J know has always been shunned & abused by the pack.
If E&B are to be good leaders, then they need to put up & keep a united front always! Edward NEEDS to lay the law down & let it be known that any mistreatment or disrespect towards his mate will NOT be tolerated. As long as he continues to hang back & let Bella defend herself, the less she'll feel loved, accepted, or welcome - not only by Edward, but the entire pack. Hell, she already feels unwelcome as it is! She'll want to leave, if this keeps up, & I can't say I'd blame her. Edward can defend his mate without weakening her position. Show her that he cares & that she belongs...that things are going to be different now.

I guess it is either of two things: Either you are not a published author or you don't want me to know and pass judgement on your storyline anc characters. I love my story and my characters. I stand up for my work from the likes of you. I went through your reviews of other authors and I see a pattern of negativity. Are you that bitter that the only thing that gives you pleasure is to cut down authors who post stories for you to read for FREE? This story started out good, & had the potential to be great, but it’s sadly taken many ridiculous turns. Bella getting over $7 million from the deaths of her soulmate & his mother is extremely unrealistic. Do you realize what insurance policies of that size would cost?! Esme wasn’t filthy rich.
And then Bella secretly gets her GED at 18 instead of just graduating by bribing her principle with $5,000, & then buys an Aston Martin - another ridiculous, unnecessary detail, to travel the US and turn into a slut. She hardly seems like she’s grieving for her soulmate. Instead, you’ve basically turned her into a heartless, materialistic whore.
She supposedly plays the stock market too on top of the millions she already has, but opens up an escort service in Chicago. Again, completely unnecessary and very gross.
Edward is supposedly the future Don of NY, and she’s in Chicago. Is that a mistake?
Then having Edward be raped by women repeatedly, especially anally while his father watched & masturbated is just disgusting & completely unnecessary. Was he underage during that? If so, that’s pedophilia!
You've turned E&B pretty much into 2 characters without any redeeming qualities now, when they started out so sweet. What son stands by and allows his mother to be gang raped for years?! Why not try to kill his dad before now or escape?! He’s had plenty of opportunities. Why hasn’t Esme told him about the evidence she stashed back in Forks? Hell, where there’s a will, there’s a way!
And while spineless Edward was forced into sex, Bella just became a whore on her own. If E&B loved each other so much, they would’ve fought harder, held out. Even with her thinking he’s dead, she could’ve waited longer than she did. She literally jumped in bed with a stranger after leaving Forks and lost her virginity. Imho, she doesn’t love Edward - just puppy love that faded rather quickly while she spent his death money whoring around & buying expensive things.
And then Carlisle hires Bella to be Edward’s escort, yet doesn’t know she’s his Bella from Forks? Any mafia Don would know that. Jasper would also know that Alice is an escort too.
I’m not trying to criticize - just trying to point some obvious things out here.

I wanted to clear up so mistakes in your review. First of all Defiance is in Chicago, while my other story was in New York. Second a 5 million dollar policy on a health 25 year old woman would be only 2,000 per year. Esme took lots of money, but also made money on her art work. Carlisle is very controlling or at least I hoped I wrote him that way. Edward was scared what he might do to Esme at every turn and didn't know what might happen to both Esme and Bella if he went against him. Bella heart is broken beyond repair and doesn't want to every do anything that would cause her to ever love again. She thinks that he is DEAD. He died at the age of 16 and she waited to leave Forks until she was 18 years old, how long was she supposed to wait? As I stated Jasper thought Alice worked at a high end shop, but I guess you missed that part. I did not write at what age when Edward was made to have sex with those women, you just assumed that he was under age, but again we are talking about a cruel evil Carlisle. I'm am not criticizing your review, just wanted to point out some of the mistakes within it.

I agree with Edward 100%! Bella HAD a choice - he DIDN'T! She became a whore on her own, despite having all the money and opportunities in the world. She COULD'VE and SHOULD'VE done SO many GOOD things with that money/blessings, and honored Edward and Esme's lives that gave it to her, but instead she CHOSE to be an escort when she DIDN'T have to be! Edward should've just walked away and left her nasty ass there before she had a chance to hit him. I don't believe in hitting women, but she certainly deserves a good smack herself!
She's VERY selfish for thinking that she's the only one hurting. Doesn't she realize who Carlisle is? Surely with her extensive background checks of clients, she KNOWS who he is. She should've put two and two together, and realized that Edward and Esme didn't disappear for nothing, especially with a creep like Carlisle for a father.
*On a side note, I was the first to catch your NY/Chicago mistake, yet you chose to take offense at what I had said and claimed I was wrong until a few others had pointed it out as well. I'm liking this story, so far, but I must admit that Bella is a bit off putting. She's extremely ungrateful & willful, as well as illogical. She has absolutely no means to take care of herself, nowhere to live, & psycho James after her, along with his thug friends, wanting to rape & kill her, yet she still wants to leave Edward's despite that he's been nothing but kind to her.
Her father was a piece of shit, they weren't close, not to mention that he gave her away to a man that he knew was a criminal, to try to save his own ass, so I don't know why she'd care that he's dead or not. If you ask me, Edward done her a favor by getting rid of that scumbag.
She doesn't have a dime to her name, so I don't know how she thought she'd get down the block in NYC, let alone anywhere else. She's just not acting like a woman who's supposed to be smart enough to be in college. She's the type of woman in a story who is beyond annoying, & that you don't root for. Imho, she doesn't deserve Edward, even though he's a criminal, or a HEA. He should let her go like she wants & let her see what trouble is out there waiting on her. That's the only way an idiot like her will learn. She'll come crawling back, if she survives. And I think that Rose knows more than Bella gives her credit for. The only dummy here is Bella.
