Bella found out that Jake has had feelings for her all along a couple chapters ago. I think it was when she figured out that the Valentine's note was from Jake and they discussed that she doesn't feel that way about him.
Now that Bella knows about Jake's feeling and he knows Bella doesn't feel that way about him, she can't be that naive to not notice all of the possessive things Jake is doing. I think Jake is doing it to upset Edward and Bella is letting him. Can't she see that she is letting a 'friend' do things that only a boyfriend would do? If she isn't letting Jake do these things to get a rise out of Edward, then she is leading Jake on, letting him think that one day she will be his.
I could be off base as to what you are thinking as far as these characters go, but that is my take on the situation.
I love getting so involved it a story that it stirs up so many feelings.

I was thinking bad about Edward, but not so much anymore! Bella is so naive where it comes to Jake. He has always been trying to get between Edward and Bella...And she let him!! I can see why Edward pulled away. She supposedly loves Edward but she lets Jake get too close and kind of leads him on.
Jake is pathetic. After all of these years, he is just hanging around waiting for something to happen between Bella and him. Get a clue Jake! if it hasn't happened by now, it never will unless it is out of pity.
