My novel is almost finished and then my focus goes back to CAM and ff. It seems there is a side effect from ingesting his venom. Just not what they expected. More will be revealed next chapter which should be up in June.

I promise she isn't absorbing everyone's powers. I hate stories like that.  ;)

Haha I'm so glad you love it!  I update every Monday so it's not too long between chapters.  It is romantic and hot.  Bella's reservations are normal but not a lot of them to be had.  It may be perfect but they do have issues, they just don't run away from them :)

I've been working on an Emmett Outtake for Parachute to be used in the 30 Days of Emmett, a series of One Shots, Outtakes and Drabbles featuring Emmett, which is hosted by AccioBourbon, Hmonster4 and Theheartoflife. It's already started off with a bang! Our Outtake will appear there on 12/3 and post to Parachute's Outtakes a few days later. Enormous kudos to these ladies for showing Em some love! =)

Charlie squeezed Bella and she melted against her father's side in comfort. When his flight to Seattle was called, Charlie leaned down and kissed her on the cheek.

"I'll see you in a few weeks, baby girl. Everything will work out fine, you'll see," he told her quietly.

"Thanks, Daddy," she whispered in his ear. Charlie grinned and reached out to shake Edward's hand.

"Edward, it was good to meet you, son. Take care of my family, you hear?"

Edward smiled sincerely. "With my life, Chief."

The two men exchanged a look and Charlie nodded, before looking at Jack and holding open his arms. The boy hugged his grandfather tightly.

"I'll see you soon, Pops! Tell Seth and Nana and Leah that I miss them!"

"I will, kiddo. I promise," Charlie responded, blinking away tears.

"Jack?" Bella called anxiously. Her head whipped from side to side frantically. "Jack!" 

Edward's hand squeezed her tightly as he pulled her towards the customer service department. The crowd was heavy with people and her heart pounded in her chest painfully.  She pulled her hand away and started to push through the crowd, heading back towards where she last saw her son.

"Bella, wait!" Edward called, but she was too far gone in panic to listen. 

She stopped for a minute and tried to think clearly. What would Jack most want to see in this store? 

Immediately thinking of the answer, Bella tore off towards the escalators.

"Call Tanya and give her this info. She'll know what to do."

"Yes, ma'am. I'll keep my ear to the ground. If I find anything else out, I'll let you know."

Bella pocketed her iPhone and her hands curled into fists. The anger that she had experienced minutes earlier paled in comparison to the rage that coursed through her. The proof that James was a part of Jack's abandonment was black and white in front of her face. She fully planned on marching back into that office and tearing a new asshole into anyone who dared to get in her way. When the elevator reached the final floor, she was alone.

The doors opened and before she could step out, she found herself once again face to face with James Brooks. His eye widened in shock and her fist flew without thought. He swiftly caught her hand and pushed her back into the elevator with his body weight. "

What the hell are you doing?" he hissed angrily.

"You- you-" she stuttered. "You piece of shit! I'm not leaving here until I talk to Edward. I know who you are and what you did to Jack. You're a miserable excuse for a human being!" she shouted in her fury.

Quicker than she could blink, one of his forearms was pressed against her throat menacingly while the other hand gripped her by the hair.

"You couldn't just leave, could you?" he ground out. "No, you had to be Miss High-And-Mighty. From the first moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you'd be a challenge."

"You're grounded until you're thirty," she murmured against his hair.

"Understood," he chuckled softly.

"I'm serious," she yawned. "Wait until your father gets home."

Jack gulped audibly and nodded. "I know."

Soon, Bella's breathing evened out and soft snores filled the air. Jack's heart clenched and he truly felt horrible for lashing out at his mother. He had no idea what made him say the things he had. She had never been anything but good to him and proved her love over and over again. The phone chirped next to him and he answered it quickly, not wanting to wake her up just yet.

"Hello?" he asked softly.

"JACKSON CHARLES CULLEN! What is wrong with you, boy? Why would say something like that to your mother?" his father's voice boomed from the phone's speaker.

"Shh, Dad, please quiet down," he replied in a hushed voice.

"Quiet down?" Edward yelled. "Are you seriously telling me to be quiet? Boy, have you lost your mind?"

"No, Dad, please," Jack whispered, "Mom is sleeping next to me."

It was hard to go through Edward's last moments and it was even harder to break Bella's heart as she found out that he was gone. This chapter was definitely a tough one to write. You said it was hard to pick up and read both of the last two chapters together, at least you had a bit of a break before you read the next one. It's definitely another sad one. I promise to bring them back together as soon as I can so they can both be happy again.

See how Bella is handling life without Edward in this quick peek at chapter 10:

When morning arrived, I woke with swollen eyes from crying all night. I stayed hidden under my covers until my father left for the day. He wouldn’t want to see my face as it was, stained with tears, puffy and red. I didn’t have to look in a mirror to know because this was how I had looked every morning for the past eight months.

I was still playing the dutiful daughter this morning until my mother left to run her errands for the day. So I bathed, got dress and went downstairs to help Mrs. Jones cook breakfast and do my daily chores.

As soon as I turned the corner into the kitchen, I saw Mrs. Jones sitting at the table with her head hanging down and a tissue in her hand. I knew in a second why she sat there crying and I moved quickly to her side, throwing my arms around her.

Yes, having Papa Masen get sick is one thing but it's an entirely different story when Edward gets sick. If it's any indication, the next chapter made two pre-readers and one beta cry...so far. So my suggestion is Kleenex. LOL You will see the chapter come your way at the end of the week. Thanks for the review, darlin. It means a lot to me - D

Leaning over the sink, I broke down and let go of all the stress, worry, fear, loss and anger that had been pressing on me for weeks. This was all too much and I wasn’t sure how much stronger I could be or how much more I could handle before I lost everything… my mother, my father, Bella and my life.

“Edward.”

Dr. Cullen’s voice was soft as he placed a hand on my shoulder. I didn’t hear him come in and I couldn’t stand for him to look at me right now, seeing the weakness that I let overwhelm me.

“Are you okay, Son?” I could hear his concern, but I still couldn’t speak. “I’m here if you need to talk. I’ll leave word with the nurses to find me if you need me.”

He patted my back softly a couple of times before his hand lifted and he walked towards the door.

“Is my mother going to die?” I choked out the words.

“We’re doing everything we…”

“I need the truth, Dr. Cullen.” I couldn’t relax my grip on the sink for fear of falling. “You’ve told me my father will die. Will my mother…” The words caught in my throat, unwilling to be spoken. Clearing my throat, I tried again with a different question.  “How much longer do I have with her?”

Aww darlin, I’m glad you liked it. Edward is so fun to write because the early 1900’s was a time of pure romance and men went out of their way to show how much they loved a woman. I’ve always pictured Edward this way and every word, action and move he makes is for Bella. He lives for her. And yes, his mother made the dress what better way to make both your son and the girl he loves happy at the same time. Thanks so much for your review. I appreciate it. Bella’s birthday is here and Edward is going to round out the story by telling his side of what happened that night. All we can ask is how loving and romantic his proposal will be. Here’s a quick taste of  chapter 6:

I stood at the foot of the stairs with Mr. Swan, waiting for my angel to show herself, but when she stepped into view, I lost all ability to breathe. My eyes widened as I took in the beauty before me in her new blue silk dress.  My mother told me the dress was for the party, but I had no idea that it was a dress for Bella. It fit her perfectly and she looked more glorious tonight than she ever had.

I was supposed to take a step forward, but my frozen muscles wouldn’t move. Bella descended two stairs when my father nudged me from behind, clearing his throat to get my attention.  My smile was immediate as the trance she held me in was lifted, and I stepped forward, waiting for her to make her way down to me.

Her pace was torturous as she inched closer to me. When she finally reached the bottom step, my frantic heartbeat drowned out every other sound in the room. The spell she cast overtook me again and my body was still as a statue. Her giggle brought me back to my senses and I shook my head to clear my mind.

I took another step forward, reaching my hand out to escort my angel.  I wanted to speak but words failed me in her presence.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure who the doctor is since Bella never thinks about him again once she leaves the coffee shop. I'm glad you like it. Unfortunately, it's not quite time for Edward to come back into her life. It'll happen though so stick with me and we'll get there. Thanks for the review, darlin. I really appreciate it. I sat down at the counter right in front of her and she stared at me with her hands on her hips. I knew better than to say a word before she did, so we sat in silence for several minutes. She was definitely better at this game than Mrs. Jones was, she would have cracked by now and told me what she wanted. I was getting nervous, fidgeting on the stool and wringing my hands together until finally she took pity on me and spoke.

"Sweetie, what are you doing with kids like that?" She shook her head. "You're a good girl, sweetheart, and they're nothin' but trouble."

I didn't know how to answer without telling her the truth. I had to think fast.

What would Lizzy say?

And then it came to me. "I met them on one of my trips to the city with my Aunt. We became friends and I come and visit them all the time now."

She narrowed her eyes at me and I knew she didn't believe my story.

They're close, just not quite close enough. It's coming though...I promise. A major jump in time in the next two chapters will bring them closer to finding each other again. Thanks for the review, darlin. Much love - D
