This scene in the book made me weep. This was a nicely done POV.
What if Edward did not take the dramatic route and wait till noon to step into the sun in Volterra? What if Alice and Bella were incapable of getting to him in time? What if he was not the only casualty of bad timing and misread visions?
This story takes us down an alternate path than what we followed in New Moon. The Cullen’s are no longer whole and Bella is so badly damaged that she may be unreachable as she closes herself off to the pain of the outside world.
Can a new love save her? Can his voice pull her from the darkness?
This story is rated NC-17 for major angst, suicide and the possibility of far off lemons (who am I kidding? If you have read any of my stories, you know there will be lemons…but not for a while).

Jason is going to be really jealous, but it isn't like he can do anything about it. Alli is just doing what he told her to do.
I think you mixed up the names "jason," and "Josh" in the scene where Alli and Ellen are talking to Josh by the lockers. At one point you refer to him as "Jason." That threw me through a loop for a minute before I realized you most likely meant to write "Josh."
And you said you were surprised that your readers (including me) thought Jason was going to be livid with Alli. I that for myself, I came to this conclusion because when I am feeling hurt, betrayed, and heartbroken, I am also very, very angry and I lash out. It is a very human response. Jason's quiet sorrow and regret is so noble and mature it's borderline superhuman. I keep waiting to see a crack in his perfect facade.

Yes! Thank you for catching that mistake. This is a very old version of this story, and I keep forgetting to check for mistakes that have been fixed in later versions. (The current version of this story is twice as long and shows Jason and Alli 6 years in the future. It's much darker - but very rewarding.)
Jason is far from perfect - he's just very level-headed and not one to lash out. (He's based very much on a RL person.) You'll see him have a bit of a meltdown in the next chapter.

The misspelling is actually kind of funny. Spelled like that it looks like she's telling him that a mine (of the coal or gold variety) belongs to him.

Lava tubes of dormant/extinct volvanoes are available to explore all over the world. But, it could be claustrophobic if you don't like enclosed spaces. We have some famous ones in Oz called the Undarra lava tubes, but I've unfortunately never seen them

One tiny question, are the characters in this story supposed to be American, or from someplace else? If they are American, then a "Torch" is a long piece of burning wood used for light or to keep bugs away in the summer. A "Flashlight" is a battery powered source of light with a handle.

Characters are American. When you reminded me that a torch is a flashlight in the US, I could have kicked myself. Of course I knew that. I will go back and replace torch with flashlight. In many parts of the world, including Australia a torch with a flame is called a tiki torch or an oil/gas torch, but a flashlight is also called a torch.

Oh, and I know that most of the English speaking world uses "Torch," and I'm sure it's a more appropriate word than "Flashlight," but since we don't use "Torch" for the battery powered version, reading that word always brings up images of Indiana Jones type Expeditions, especially when traveling through a dark lava tube. I was picturing a stick with fire at the end until you mentioned the batteries were dead. And then I had to go "Oooooh!" and compeltely rearrange my images of the chapter.
So thanks for fixing it. And sorry about the nitpicking. :D

The idea I was going for was that Seeley Booth was "created" in everyone's memory just like Dawn was created. I kind of played with the prophecy of the Shanshu and with Dawn's precedent. I didn't explain my idea becaues I thought it wasn't that critical, and I like to leave something for the readers to imagine, so if you saw it in a different way, judos to you :)

We are both extremely proud and excited at the response this story continues to garner. Thank you for being one of those who leave us some love. To heed off a bunch of extra questions, we want to be clear that all three of them (Bella, Seth, and Leah) have birth certificates, social security cards, and were born in hospitals. Bella lived with her birth mother for a while (more will come about this soon), then she went to live with her father and step mom (cough.. MONSTER). Bella does not know anything about her actual information; she has been kept ignorant for MANY reasons. Bella does however have all the needed info for the kids, a part of that is because of Zafrina and Aro assisting her in getting the needed paperwork found. As for Edward, you will continue to see the changes she causes in him, and at least they are for the better. Thanks for the story love and we look forward to hearing from you again!

I shake my head. “We are fine Isabella, you can return to what you were doing.” She gives me a nod, turns, and walks away.
“So that the famous Isabella then?” I can’t tell by his face what he is thinking.
“Yeah, that is her, so first thoughts?”
He lets out a sigh and rubs his head. “She’s what, twenty-four?”
I nod my head. “Well, in three weeks she will be.”
He walks with me towards my kitchen. “Well, she sure is small and not just in height. She looks like she has missed some essential nutrients over the years. She’s very pale and the dark coloring under her eyes would lead me to believe that she doesn’t sleep much and she looks to be extremely tired. Her pupils show that she needs more Calcium, and Iron. She also looks to you for permission to call me Jazz. She seems to be unsure of what she is, and isn’t allowed to do.” He stops talking while pouring himself a drink. I pull at my hair having not learned anything new about her.
I make us lunch as we continue to chat some more, but not about the topic I want to discuss, Isabella. I make some extra food for her on the off chance that she hasn’t eaten anything yet. After what I saw at the mall and what Jazz just confirmed, I assume she more than likely has skipped lunch. I decide to make up some sandwiches to go with the soup I am making. I can’t decide on what kind to make, so I make four different kinds. Everything is done, and I carry the covered pot of soup to the table.
“Isa. . . Ouch, what the fuck, Jazz?” I ask rubbing my head where Jasper just slapped me.

Hello our faithful readers and reviewers! We were expecting a bit of a lashing from some of you, and we have gotten a few but nothing like I expected. Please let me remind you all now first and foremost that we are both happy ever after kind of gals. Little refresher is needed about ages, and a few other things, since there were a few questions. Edward is 28 and will soon be turning 29. Bella just turned 11 when the twins were born, Sue left when Bella was 13, and Bella has been working for the university for over 5 years. Bella just turned 19 in chapter 8. Edward is 9 and 1/2 years older than Bella. Before Sue left, she obtained a fake ID for Bella that said Bella was 18. Therefore everyone surrounding the apartment building assumed she was of legal age. Sue needed everyone to think Bella was 18, and she was sure to scare tactic that into Bella. All these years, Bella has continued to maintain the age Sue said she had to say she was, in fear of not being able to stay with the twins. Now for Bree Tanner and James...Bree Tanner was the female student from Edward’s Summer school course he taught. In the summer for the past several years, Edward has been helping his good friend Marcus by teaching the kids who struggle to pass, or are so far behind they may not graduate high school. Bree Tanner was the hoodie wearing shy and quiet girl from chapters 1 and 2. Bree lives in Forks and attends high school at Forks High. James Hunter is a Math teacher and the truancy officer for the Forks school district. We don’t want to give too much away, but if you think back to the earlier chapters, when Edward had to take a break from his panic attacks, he was clear to tell Marcus his concerns about Bree being abused. Bella is naive about many things, but she has grown a lot in the past few chapters. We want to be clear that Bella feels as if she lied to Edward, she started trusting him a long time ago and when she started trusting him she feels she should have told him then. Edward doesn’t feel betrayed by the lie, but he is more of in shock by the lie. When he thought he was almost 5 years older than Bella he was concerned with the age difference, mainly because of how innocent she is. Now that that almost five is almost ten, he is confused. The next chapter will have you cheering Edward on, and hating his guts too. We don’t want to give too much away, but I will say this, we are both excited at the prospect of the reviews after the next chapter posts.
