I loved this chapter, especially Edward finding Bella at the grocery store. I have no idea what's up with Charlie; I wonder if it's Bella-related or work-related, or possibly both. There's a small part of me that wonders if this is Renée-related. I definitely believe he's keeping something from her, but I don't know why.
I believe Edward when he says he doesn't know anything about Charlie; he wouldn't keep anything serious from Bella.
One thing I really like about this story is how sweet and understanding Edward is, and how in-character he is. He never forces Bella to talk about anything that's scaring her, but when she does want to talk about something serious he definitely listens.
I do have one question. How did Edward know where Bella was? Did he get to Charlie's and read her note, or did Alice have a vision and tell him? It's not that important; I'm just curious.
Very good update and I look forward to reading more.
