I understand how she feels. She wants to make a difference. To do so she has to affect more than one person. If she can teach officers how to do a better job then those officers in the field will make quicker arrests, thus stopping the violence.
I know this is just fiction, but this goes on in real life. Leaving the bureau is hard for her but yet I think she wants a change as well. If she ever wants children she can not be in harms way. Edward needs to think AHEAD of his next orgasim.
He could have lost her forever. Part of her now is lost. He hasn't figured that out yet.

This is a Edward/Bella story, which is all human, with canon couples. The story, which is centered around a hospital, is not your typical medical based drama. It takes place in the operating room, where two people from two different sides of the surgical spectrum meet. There is not only romance and drama. There will be Angst and a crap load of humor too. Bella sighed and smiled, her eyes closed and facing the sky, as the classical notes of Tchaicovsky's 1812 Overture swirled around the air. She felt Edward's hand gently begin to play with her hair and she bit her lip to stifle a sigh. He had been nothing short of amazing today and she didn't want their date to come to a close any time soon.
She opened her eyes and turned her face slightly to the left.
Edward's fingers still held onto a strand of hair as he smiled down at her.
"Enjoying the concert?" he asked, in a low husky voice. She smiled widely and nodded happily.

That could come with being with adults ( ha ha..you wrote it). Victoria abandoned her child so no statute of limitations there. She could still go to jail. This would be easy to prove.
I think letting the other grandparents in on the child is good but> NOT ALONE. I still dont trust all they have said.

Now that she had fallen in adoration with the Cullen clan, she couldn't imagine leaving them. But on the same token, she couldn't imagine leaving her own family and friends behind. The questions whirled around like a tornado, forcing her to blink back tears at their sudden force. She felt a nudge and turned to Esme, who was smiling at her.
"Hey, no frowning," she half-whispered. "Try to enjoy the day, sweetie."
Bella shook her head and smiled sadly. "I'm sorry, Esme. Too many thoughts running around in my head. I don't know what I'm doing."
Esme laughed lightly. "Oh, sweetheart! None of us know what we're doing. Life's a dance that we learn as we go. Everything will work out for the best, you'll see."
"How can you be so sure, Esme? I can't see how this will end happily."
Bella sniffed and looked down at her plate.
"How can I not, Bella? Fate stepped in and brought you to love and keep Jack safe. Fate brought you and Jack back to us. I can't help but be hopeful for the future, especially knowing that my grandson is alive and safe and loved."

this is a good story. You are progressing nicely. The situation between the two families is hard on both with distance and both wanting Jack. Bella is awesome, thank you for that. So many stories have her as a clumbsey idiot, or sex fiend. She is well balanced here. Edward is understandably scared from the past with losing his son and having a wife that was so many bad things.
In the end the child's interest is what is important and you are handling that beautifully.

Charlie squeezed Bella and she melted against her father's side in comfort. When his flight to Seattle was called, Charlie leaned down and kissed her on the cheek.

"Thanks, Daddy," she whispered in his ear. Charlie grinned and reached out to shake Edward's hand.
"Edward, it was good to meet you, son. Take care of my family, you hear?"
Edward smiled sincerely. "With my life, Chief."
The two men exchanged a look and Charlie nodded, before looking at Jack and holding open his arms. The boy hugged his grandfather tightly.
"I'll see you soon, Pops! Tell Seth and Nana and Leah that I miss them!"
"I will, kiddo. I promise," Charlie responded, blinking away tears.

Bella stood, drenched head to toe, in the middle of her front lawn. Hot tears streamed down her face as the chilly rain pelted her skin. Her mouth was open slightly in shock, as she gazed down with wide eyes at the man she loved more than life itself. Edward's hopeful, joyous face grinned up at her from his stance on one knee. The ring held in his hand was a single brilliant diamond that was simple, yet elegant.
"Isabella Swan, I have been captivated by you since the moment I first laid eyes on you. That love only grew and expanded as I got to know you and saw first hand what a wonderful mother you are to our son. Forever could never be long enough for me, to feel like I've had long enough with you. Marry me?"
She covered her mouth and let out a sob, before throwing her arms around him and shouting, "Yes!"
They fell together, a mass a limbs and lips, their hearts beating both beating wildly. He pulled away slightly and pushed a lock of rain-saturated hair from her face.
"Let's go inside, please. I don't want you to catch a cold."
When they stood, his eyes were drawn to her white shirt, now completely plastered against her bare breasts, her nipples hard and straining against the fabric. His hand reached out to brush against her breast, causing her to become self conscious and cross her arms across her chest. She laughed lightly and nodded her head towards the house.
"Come on, let's get dry."
Edward let out a loud guffaw. "I'd rather keep you wet, love."
His hands wrapped around her waist and he pulled her back to his chest as they tumbled into the house. Sopping wet clothes soon littered the foyer floor and hands roamed greedily.
"Where is our bedroom?" he asked huskily, sweeping her into his arms.

I won't ever be remembered for my common sense. I know most of you hate me and I'm fine with that. I deserve it. I was a bad, bad girl. For those of you who don't know my story, I'll start at the beginning.
My mother married my father for his money and power. When she'd finally had enough, she left and took half of his net worth, including me. He never seemed to mind. He sent an obscenely large support check once a month, but it always felt like a buy-off. Once he re-married and began a family with his new wife, our interactions were even fewer. Who knows how I would have turned out if he had made more of an effort? He's just as much to blame for my upbringing as my mother is. He knew how she was, yet he still didn't lift a finger to keep me.

The streets were eerily empty as the girl stealthily slipped out of the Beverly Hills house, although one could quite easily exchange the term mansion in its stead. Her shoulders were hunched as she made sure her hood was firmly covering her blond hair, her back laden with only an over-stuffed backpack and a guitar case. She needed to escape quickly, unseen, and today was the best time to make that happen. It was just after eleven pm, on Christmas Eve and there was practically no movement on Santa Monica Boulevard. She traveled on foot for almost three miles before coming across a cab running on the desolate streets.
She quickly stowed her meager possessions in the backseat before climbing inside.
"The nearest Greyhound station, please," she requested as softly as she could, but still within the driver's hearing range.
The older man glanced at her in the rear view mirror. If he thought anything was off about the way she kept her face hidden, he made no mention of it.
"Heading home for the holiday, sweetie?"
"Something like that," she murmured, staring out of the window and watching the lights pass by. They reached their destination in just under fifteen minutes and she handed him a $50 bill.
Takes place after Edward leaves in NM.

Thoughts of love and admiration poured into me, followed by sad thoughts of wanting to see her mommy. Where’s mommy? The little girl was thinking. I want my mommy. I staggered back in pain, my mind reeling as I spun and darted out of the room and into the forest. I ran and ran for what felt like forever, pushing myself further and further away from the pain that was now states behind me. All I knew was that I had to get away, away from Bella’s dead, broken body, away from the happy gurgles of the little girl, away from my family’s mourning thoughts, away from Tristan’s anguished cries, away from everything and everyone. I couldn’t go back, not now, maybe not ever. The pain was just too much to bear.

I kept staring at her while she sat back down in her seat, waiting for her to start talking. Whatever happened she didn’t want to tell me, but I wasn’t giving her a choice I wanted, no I needed to know. Finally she sighed and started talking.

Breaking in to her train of thought I made the assumption “You did all the chores”

I truly couldn’t imagine any ten year old taking it upon themselves to be responsible for keeping a house. I suppose that would be another reason why at the tender age of eighteen Bella thought herself ready for marriage. It seems so clear to me that she had hopes and dreams for a regular life, college, career and all the other things that eighteen year olds dream about. However in her advanced maturity she pushed her own happiness aside and took on the responsibility of trying to please someone else. I had thought Bella to be a natural submissive and it would seem like she was.
The mistake she made was in her choice of partners. I have no doubt that had he not been abusive she would have been a perfect wife. Bella did everything within her power to see to his happiness even to the point of losing her own.

I like the way you are telling the story. Alice has some history making her scared of marrying a sheriff. The history of the outlaw. Well that has to be delbt with. That will clear her problem up. Life in those days was not prissy. People were Strong, Focused, and simple by nature.
Bella and Edward have to get focused on where they will live. Those conversations need to start. I can not remember her age. The fact she already has money seems to help with a place of their own. Edward has a second chance now to build what he lost.
Emmet will be lonely if he does not make peace with Rose. Perhaps Bella and Edward will chose to live close to him. His ranch is his not a family one passed down.
