Author's Response: It was a little confusing. I had them get out of town when the daymen and Weres were coming to set things up, but when the actual Summit took place they were back. Sookie had promised Mr. C. she would stay inside at night. She really should have. Pam has a lesser role for now, but you will be seeing her as the story moves forward and we see more of Eric.

How sad! I can't imagine Freyda would want Eric dead, I'm sure she will be somewhat devastated. Rick needs to get in to see Dr. Ludwig much sooner. Something is going to happen and if Rick hurts someone by accident it would be horrible for him.

Author's Response: Today's installment does have Rick in front of Amy Ludwig. Questions get answered and Sookie realizes there are things about her life that are moving her toward vampires, whether she wants it or not. Freyda may be happy, but jealousy can be a destructive thing!

Author's Response: I was a little reluctant to go there too - the whole kids thing, but I had that other story and felt that I had some unfinished business in that area. I wanted to see if I could manage it without it becoming just too cute or too precious. I've read a couple stories that started off so strong, and then the kid(s) arrive and character development goes out the window, so there you go... Glad you're liking it. As for Eric? It will be awhile, but anger may not be his first emotion... Thanks again for reading!

Author's Response: In this story, because of the unique nature of how Rick comes about, there is no residual smell from either parent. He is uniquely his own. There is something about him that makes vampires suspicious, and that gift will be revealed by Doctor Ludwig shortly. As for Rubio and New England? Sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence, but I would be pretty suspicious if I were Sookie! She has a lot to lose. As for meeting Eric? Just released Chapter 10, so you're about to find out. Author's Response: They are pretty far apart at this point, and Sookie has some things she needs to take care of, including having a baby (that will happen in the next chapter). But, as usual, fate will not let them be apart forever!

Author's Response: Eric is not in a good place. He has no official standing, and as Consort, he really only had one job, and that was protecting Freyda. We see how that turned out. But, there are always opportunities for the Viking, if he's bold enough to take them... and Eric Northman is bold!

Author's Response: Well, had something happened, the outcome couldn't have been good! Eric being there along with Freyda would have tied hands pretty well. You can bet there would have been the usual fangs and threats, if not outright violence. At best they would have taken off with each other, living lives on the run with no where to turn and a baby in tow. Not appealing, even if a romantic notion!

Author's Response: It is a bit of a turning point, isn't it? The vampires all assumed that this signaled the end. Eric is sure she'll end herself. Pam is equally certain, which she suspects will lead to her Maker seeking his final end. The others see Sookie as headstrong and willing to harm herself rather than live a life she didn't choose. Then along comes Rick, who, like the miracle he is, gives them hope.

Author's Response: Thank you. There was a bit of story to get through in each of these last steps. Desmond was ordered by Fran. It's not said directly, but the message comes from Fran. After all, he is supposed to be a guardian of sorts... Of course how well he does at this job is a matter of interpretation.

Author's Response: Breandan is falling for her, although he doesn't quite believe it. Will he betray her? In the end, he is his Father's son. Leopards, in this case, don't change their spots, although they regret it later. Eric? A couple more chapters until Ireland where we find he has set himself up where he can see her often.

Author's Response: Sookie won't, for a number of reasons. She's trusting Breandan, but not enough. Something is holding her back, and as we see Breandan working in Ireland, it's best she didn't. As for Eric and Niall: of course they know each other, but Eric lives in a world where he straddles rivalries, especially among monarchs not his own. Don't look for him to volunteer, but when confronted, he won't hold back either.

Author's Response: Sookie's brain does work better when Breandan isn't around - but when you're in love, don't you find you have moments of brain dead? I do! In that first flush of happiness, I sometimes have trouble stringing two words together, much less coherent thought! As for accepting food from a vampire versus one of the Seelie? No, no favors. Eric is just busting them off on Breandan. He likes to tweak Breandan, and will, every chance he gets.

Author's Response: I always found that the bad boys exes, the ones I never should have taken up with in the first place, were always the hardest to shake. Maybe there was something about them that called out all my fatal attraction tendencies! Breandan is like that for Sookie! Her emotions are all wrapped up in him, and she feels her connection with her Mother when she thinks of him - powerful stuff! You're right, unless she asks, he won't volunteer Mae's fate, and who would think to ask in casual conversation, "Oh, by the way, is Mae dead?"

Author's Response: In the end, Breandan isn't a nice guy. He's attracted to her, and he had his chance, but it would have required him changing, and he just isn't that strong! Breandan wants what he wants when he wants it. He also believes she's inferior to him, and that colors all his actions.

Sookie as a character is so flawed. I know that everyone is flawed, but I'd like to thnk that most people try to overcome theirs. It seems she's never happy with anything. I am not trying to be critical of you, because that was how she was and you are using her "original" basic character. She's the girl you can never understand that always gets guys to eat out of her hand even though she can treat them so terribly. guess that goes both ways! LOL - Thanks for updating, wondering if Braendan is out there with those seals or if he's somewhere else. And I'm betting we havn't seen the last ofClaude!
Author's Response: All true. Sookie is flawed. She refuses to accept herself, and that makes it hard for her to accept others. How I'm writing is purposeful. Sookie coming to terms with her own self is part of the story arc. The twist for me this time is Eric's inability to process his relationship with his Maker. Of course, part of that is 'nature.' A Maker has tremendous power, but it will lead to a problem that will almost cost them everything. As for Claude and Breandan? Good guess.

Author's Response: I figured Eric would need someone to run interference, and Lars fits the bill. The Swedes have plenty of legends about Fae-like creatures, and they have legends about the undead, zombies, really, who move around taking people and drinking their blood. Wasn't too much of a stretch to have farming families with strong ties to Sweden retain those stories. If Lars and Corbett were friends (they were), Lars would have seen some things. His mother, Inger, definitely saw things and she'll be the one who sets Eric and (reluctantly) Sookie on the path to Sookie learning her skills.

what a great update! so many new questions. I feel bad for Pam also. Wonder if Eric sent her away? I guess he released her so she couldn't be abused. I just can't guess if Claudine and Naill have Sookies best interests at heart. Thank you - I looked forward to reading this tonight.

well damn. Sophie Ann is being terrible. wonder if Andre agrees with her decisions. Now I will be wondering what is going to happen when Eric ends up with Robert. Thank you for updating even though the chapters go too fast!! I always think I will wait till stories are complete LOLOL!!
