Hi again!
Yes, you're absolutely correct, my vamps can tell their mate thru smell. So going back to that night....Carlisle was at work; he came home with many scents on him. His time with Bella was limited and they weren't hugging each other; etc... it was basic patient/doctor contact. He also saw several patients after her, causing their scents to be mingled and muted... So by the time Carlisle got home, Bella's scent was too faint to be picked up thus he couldn't tell that she was his true mate.
Awesome question btw. Hopefully I can finish the outtake soon with Edward's POV. So far I have written his POV before he meets Bella and during the time he saves her.

Thank you so much. I am thinking about doing a full MI story. I have an idea that I am outlining while I finish up my other story.
As for Jace's last line, Clary said she was too busy for a boyfriend, so he was giving her what she wanted...no strings attached but with enough cockiness to show that he was in it for more. ...make sense?
Edward's life is changed when he and his family move to the small town of Forks, Washington. Being a teacher as a vampire proves to be a bit more difficult than he'd once imagined. No, this is not a vampire story, but supernatural all the same. It is the tale of a princess in peril and the mythical creature who saves her. They will love each other passionately but, as it is the case with other cross species mating, it will not be easy. The time? Oh, some 2700 years ago. The story is all written, and short, (5 chapters). Can you keep your options open till Thursday? The second and the other chapters are longer than this one. But I HAD to end it with the centaur surprise.
In fact first I conceived the story (It came to me in a taxi, while we were stuck in the crazy Roman traffic). I wanted to leep the spirit of Twilight, i.e. an (almost) impossible love story between different species, while writing a story with no vampires). So I went surfing on google images looking for centaurs till I found this one.
