A captivating first chapter! I'm already hooked. I love the co-dependant Renee buying into big bad controlling Phil's concerns. I swear, I just want to shake that woman. Poor Bella, her independence and happiness already being thrown away before the marriage. I shudder to think what will happen when Phil is legally tied to these women.
Something I really love is the way you're writing Bella. She feels like a real teenager, not a cliche carbon copy. All your characters have unique voices that are utterly fascinating. I can't wait to read what happens next.
Slash: Most of the tenants in Jasper's building were seniors who'd lived there for decades. Dr. Cullen was the exception; that alone was enough to pique Jasper's interest. The fact that Dr. Cullen was dead sexy didn't hurt, either. Sexuality.
