I would like to comment on some of the negative things that other readers are saying about this story. Personally, I find it offensive that people would have the nerve to complain about something written in a story. If they don't like it, they don't have to read it. It is as simple as that. This story is very clearly labeled as to the content contained within. If a person chooses to ignore the warning and read on, it is on them if they have a "problem" with the content ... not the other way around. Seriously, some of the readers need to use their critical thinking skills. People that do not understand the D/S lifestyle or are offended by it should probably look elsewhere for entertainment. I do not say this to discourage people from reading your story (I pimp this story out to all my friends), I simply want people to be respectful to the writer(s) of this story. Name-calling is petty and immature.

I enjoyed seeing the supportive family dynamic that Bella was raised in. I cannot even imagine how hard it must have been for Bella to hide the atrocious things that James did to her. I imagine this was two-fold: shame and fear. Shame that she would allow herself to get into that situation and fear that there would be repercussions for her and possibly her family members. I was proud of Edward for standing back and observing her family. He interacted with them and hopefully they all realize now that he loves her dearly and would never hurt her the way James did. I think that this trip to Forks has been a positive experience for both of them. Hopefully this has exorcised some of Bella's demons. While her memories of the pain she endured will probably never fully go away, I think that she can move on to have a beautiful, meaningful life with Edward.
Of course I do realize that the trip isn't over so there is the distinct possibility that the asshole will make an appearance. If he does, I hope she has the strength to stand up to him and tell him to go fuck himself with a telephone pole! She is much stronger than she gives herself credit for. She needs to realize that so many people love and support her unconditionally, especially Edward. He understands her better than anyone. The argument with Leah had to take place. I am glad they hashed it out and hopefully that chapter is closed now. Loved this chapter. Not everything has to be about sex and this chapter proved it.

Questions for Aro: Why would you want to be in a relationship where the other person is not allowed to think or make decisions for themself? Doesn't it get boring? Breaking in to her train of thought I made the assumption “You did all the chores”
She shrugged “Someone had too”
I truly couldn’t imagine any ten year old taking it upon themselves to be responsible for keeping a house. I suppose that would be another reason why at the tender age of eighteen Bella thought herself ready for marriage. It seems so clear to me that she had hopes and dreams for a regular life, college, career and all the other things that eighteen year olds dream about. However in her advanced maturity she pushed her own happiness aside and took on the responsibility of trying to please someone else. I had thought Bella to be a natural submissive and it would seem like she was.
The mistake she made was in her choice of partners. I have no doubt that had he not been abusive she would have been a perfect wife. Bella did everything within her power to see to his happiness even to the point of losing her own.

“About what?” she truly didn’t know what I meant, so I held up her arm. Bella’s face fell “Oh”
I kept staring at her while she sat back down in her seat, waiting for her to start talking. Whatever happened she didn’t want to tell me, but I wasn’t giving her a choice I wanted, no I needed to know. Finally she sighed and started talking.
“I don’t know what you want me to say Edward I handled it, ingeniously I thought, I let her know that I wasn’t going to take any of her shit while still obeying you. Did I do wrong? Were you mad at me?”
Was I mad at her?
I figured I would let her answer her own question “Did you get punished?”
Bella shook her head at my question so I asked another one “Were you rewarded?”
The sweetest smile and blush broke out over her face “Several times” she admitted, making me chuckle, but I needed her to know something.

I started reading this story a couple of days ago and am now up to speed. Sorry I didn't comment on every chapter. I hope to make up for that now.
This is a very interesting story. Obviously. It has kept my attention for the past two days! I understand the bond between the dominant and submissive. I do not participate in that lifestyle but have done extensive reading on the subject. I like the way you portray Edward's adjustment to Bella's punishments, taking into consideration her abusive history. I don't believe she ever feels abused and he is always clear in his explanation as to why she is receiving punishment. Communication is important.
As for who is after her ... that is a tough one to answer. The obvious suspect is, of course, James. I am not sure he is that stupid. The jury is still out on that rat bastard. My second choice would be Tanya. She is a bitch, in every sense of the word. A woman scorned can be a scary thing. She could be in cahoots wiIth James. That would be an interesting twist. In all honesty I am afraid you are going to kill off the dog :-) That would hurt Bella, and even Edward, so much. I think it would also be a tipping point in her sanity. Maybe she needs a shove to get over the past. Who knows? Only you :-)

The thing about punishments is that they talk before hand, so that it is clear why it is occuring and they afterwards there is cuddling and more talking so that she knows all is forgiven and no grudge is held... it helps with the trust and the bond that they share. As far as yourr theories go... Hell hath no fury as a woman scorn... but besides having her feelings hurt or more like her pride wounded what motive would Tanya have? I should have expected that she would have a nightmare, the trauma of having our home invaded was enough to unnerve me, I can only guess what memories it stirred in her. Removing my shirt that was full of tears and dirty from her nose I laid back down with her head on my chest. “We’ll change the locks tomorrow and figure out who it was, that will make you feel safer. It was just a dream Bella, I swear I would die before I let anyone hurt you.”
“Don’t say that!”
I wasn’t sure what she was talking about when she abruptly shot her head up to look at me. “I couldn’t stand it if something happened to you. I couldn’t take it”
Even in the darkness of the room I could see the fierceness in Bella’s eyes as the tears fell down her face. “Nothing is going to happen to me, and nothing is going to happen to you. Now stop with the tears and lets go back to sleep”
Cupping her face my thumb wiped away the tears as she nuzzled her cheek against my palm before turning her head to placing a soft kiss in the center of my hand. “Do you think I’m crazy?”
“No…” why the hell would I think that?
“…I think it was a stressful night and I think you have a lot on your mind and have dealt with more in your life then any one person should have to deal with. I told you before baby, I think you are the strongest person I know; a lesser person would have called it quits a long time ago. Now let’s go back to sleep, I have a promise to keep to a dog”

“Hey Bella?” Dana called from over by the stove.
“What?” I asked looking up.
“Who was that guy here the other day? What was his name Tammy?” She asked sarcastically to the woman standing next her. This was not going to be good.

“It’s just the food” I told him as he followed me to the door barking the whole time “Seth!” I admonished while shutting down the alarm and opening the door to a very stunned Irena.

Edward was pulling into the parking lot that was across the street from the main entrance. He didn’t say anything else until he held my door open for me taking my hand and pulling me closer to him. “I am sorry about my behavior”

Edward took the lid off his coffee while I took a bite of the danish moaning as the sweet gooey goodness melted in my mouth. The mixture of berries was a perfect balance between sweet and tangy with a thin layer of warm yummy cheese and sweet drizzle.

I never felt there was because I based my assumption on the fact that I know Bella's character. Seeing it from the other side and realizing that others did not know Bella, explains some of their judgment on Aro. That does not reflect well on his character though if so many would jump to the wrong conclusion. Human nature, at its worst! lol

Taking another drink of coffee I didn’t say anything, but that was twice now that something was not put on the calendar. The lunch with Jane yesterday- which I found out about accidentally - that was ultimately cancelled and now the waxing, I guess my submissive will have some explaining to do. But at the moment I thought of something else.
“If you are waxing have them remove the remaining patch of hair” Bella’s hand stopped mid-way to her mouth as she just stared at me and I wondered what had caused the reaction I was getting.

Leah went into the bathroom while Bella came around the corner into the kitchen. Our eyes met immediately as a warm smile engulfed her face. It was clear she had been crying and it took everything I had in me to remain in the chair and not run to comfort her. Sue looked up as she started putting food on the table then went over to hug Bella just as I wanted to. Bella nodded at whatever Sue was saying then left her go so she could say hello to her father.
“Hi daddy” Bella said wrapping her arms around him from the back before leaning down to kiss his cheek.
Charlie’s hand gripped her forearm then patted it in a fatherly manner. “Hi’a Bells. How are you?”

Great chapter! I think Edward's insight gave Leah something to think about. Hopefully she will accept his explanation and give it some serious thought. Bella is a very important part of Leah's life. They need each other.
Re: Water for Elephants. I read the book and saw the movie. The book was great. The movie told the story well and I enjoyed seeing RPattz with some color in his face for a change. I was disappointed in the chemistry between him and Reese Witherspoon. I blame this on the director. The actors take their cues from the director and I don't think he did his job. I know RPattz can conjure up passion. I have seen Remember Me and even Little Ashes.

I understand the sentiment behind this chapter. In any relationship it is important to keep the lines of communication open. Reality can take a toll, especially when children and work take up so much of a person's time. While I do not necessarily agree with E's behavior, I do get it. I am also proud of him for stopping before he got too carried away. B had every right to be hurt. I do feel though that she went a bit overboard in his punishment.
