Oh my. that was so hard to read. I really feel for jake, but he's just not the one for her.
And poor Edward having to hear that Jake was thinking about marrying Bella. How much did Jake really tell him? Ugh.
It's a tough situation. For everyone.

What a chapter! I loved that once they let go, theiy snapped together like really charged magnets. (I know, tried to find a way to word that so that it didn't have a double meaning, and either it's really early, or it's impossible.)
But there's a whole lot of loose ends because of thier breakups. I was wary of tanya before, but knowing that she showed up at the office to put the urse in her place instead of confronting Edward speaks volumes about her! Not to mention all of the sabotaging she did with the event... Something tells me wh haven't seen the last of her, yet.
And there's got to be some sort of fall out with Jake, too. It's almmost sweet the way he thinks Bella's distance is because of James. But, somewhere along the line he's going to see that her change started right around the time she sought legal council.
Again, want to praise you on your thoroughness. All of the questions, comments, passing thoughts are always waiting for me in the next chapters. Really, great job!

Kids are soooo perceptive. It's crazy how quickly they just get it sometimes.
But, I think Edward and Bella are finally starting to get it too! The impatience at the lunch date was just too precious and fluttery! The good stuff!
Well, the kissing and rubbing were good stuff, too. You totally convey that confidence that is achieved when you trust your partner.
And I love that Edward can carry a conversation and think protective thoughts about Bella when he's arroused now. His feelings for Bella are spreading into other categories. And I love it!
And again, thanks for your response. But, honestly, sharing this story just really is the right thing to do :D

Why do I have the feeling Jake's going to pop in at the wrong time? Ugh! I feel for the kid, but he really is a dark cloud off in the distance.
Waiting with all the other storms just off in the distance. Stupid James and Victoria. When I really want is for it to rain kisses and more for Edward and Bella!
But I love the tension. Just the right amount so far...and it's haelped them bond so well!

It has the same stream of consciousness that draws you in immediately, and makes the situations and emotions relatable. But not having a template makes it more exciting! I'm loving the little glimpses of who Elle and Jonah are and need to know more :-)

Esme's gaze went back and forth between Bella and Jack. She could clearly see the love that wound between the two of them and a million questions started to swirl around her.
"How?" she asked, as tears started to trickle from her verdant eyes. "What happened? How did you find him? How long have you known we were his family?" Both she and Carlisle looked at Bella expectantly.
"It's very long story," Bella chuckled, humorlessly. "Let me start at the beginning."
Bella started to tell the Cullen her tale, starting with finding Jack in the alley and taking him to the police station. She didn't get very far. They were interrupted with the sound of the front door opening and a loud voice calling out of the foyer.
"Mom! We're here!"
Bella felt something tighten in her stomach as she prepared to come face to face with Jack's father. Her nerves were at an all-time high and she briefly wondered if Dr. Cullen could prescribe her something to help prevent an ulcer from forming.

This reminds me of a story I read as a kid about a traveling circus and a girl who made a wish for a boy to set down roots.The message of being careful of what you wished for has stuck with me since elementary.
This is that stories older, scarred, and whiskey guzzling older brother to me. I am repelled and intrigued all at the same time. And even when I walk away from the story, it follows me around. I love that.
