I have really enjoyed this story, even laughed out loud several times, which is not something I do very often when reading a story. :-)
I have to share this; my mom was 49 when I was born, my dad was 58. I was their 7th child. My 3rd oldest sibling, who was in her mid twenties, was pregnant at the same time. She gave birth to a daughter a few weeks after mom had me. It raised a lot of eyebrows in the little town we lived in, lol! Some of my brothers and sisters already had kids in their teens when I came along.
