01/20/14 - I just found this - I hope someday you feel impressed to complete this story line. I won't go into detail but I will say I understand the storyline a bit more that some might. I'm just not blessed enough to be like "Ghost Whisperer" or someone but it IS a veil that separates our sides and not a wall. I don't have any personal experiences like your story line but I do have relatives who've had similar experiences.
Sequel to Taking Chances. Finding the family they didn't realize they needed, they thought they had everything. Now Bella and Edward, along with Alex and Anthony, are in for the wildest adventure yet. AH & NC-17 for language and other things. Canon coupling.

Without going into details - I know someone who went thru the same thing in 1995 - and did eventually remarry someone equally as wonderful and his wife who had passed on.
Summary: Bella Marie Swan, the previous first daughter of the United States is elected as the first female President. After her inauguration, she moves in the White House and begins the job that she was elected to do. It had been a hard-fought election, with her opponent attacking her personally for being a woman and not being married. However, in the end, the people of the country spoke with their votes. The first day on the job she was introduced to her security team and was shocked to see the leader was her high school sweetheart, Edward Cullen.
Edward Cullen had worked hard and up through the ranks to become the leader of USSS for the POTUS. Excited to start his new position for the upcoming President, until she won. The only woman he had ever loved.
