Story Notes:

I wrote this poem as an assignment for a creative writing class in high-school, and I got an A.

Can't think for themsevles

Can't go anywhere alone

Dress like us

Talk like us

Think like us

But nobody ever tells you that it's fake

Don't let them take over your mind

Don't turn away from warmth and love for cold and hate

These girls aren't even each other's friends

They talk behind each other's backs

They insult one another

Dress like us

Talk like us

Think like us

They're clones

Being one of them is a lifetime game of follow the leader

They're dead inside

Sacrificing individuality for popularity

Group mentality is a powerful thing

Dress like us

Talk like us

Think like us

All it took for me to hate these shallow phonies

Was a message written on my pink winter coat

These robots are tin-man hollow inside and outside.
