I really think that they are moving at an acceptable rate. He talks with her about Jake and her life before and even laughs at her stories with her. Which in itself can be a major help. I dont think Edward telling her he was attracted to her was a bad thing.
If he had denied it, she would have picked up on his evasion and that would have cost them their friendship before it even started.
I really think she is doing it (therapy) for the right reasons. She realizes she cannot continue to wallow in her grief. She will still grieve and miss him horribly, but she needs to actually live her life, she has responsibiitys to her children who lost their Dad at the same time she lost her husband. In order for her to help her kids move on and recover she has to also.

It's the pits to have the flu go through the family like that, it leaves you feeling like a wet noodle. I'm so glad Bella had dinner with Edward and they talked about therapy. It has to help her with the constant guilt. Edward was honest telling Bella he could be more than her friend, someday. I feel that dream of Jake asking how she liked his present is going to be very prophetic, one of these days!

I agree about the therapy Bella, it will be good for you. De Nile is not just a river. But I can imagine the temptation to not admit to it because if you acknoldge your grief than you have to acknoldge what happened. I have been lucky enough to have not lost anyone close to me but I know it will happen eventually. My parents are a big part of my life and its hard to imagine that one day they won't be there. I can't imagine losing a spouse. Hang in there Bella!

Good God, I feel so bad for Bella. I can't even imagine being with someone for so many years, having his kids and then he just... dies. How do you redefine the sketch of your life?

And I gotta say that even though I know Alice and Renee have the best intentions, I'm not too happy about them. In grief, we all mourne differently and at different paces. For some it takes months to get to a good place, for others it takes years and sadly, for few it takes forever. So it seems like they think they know better, ya know? Like 'it's time to move on'. Well, we each know when it's time, no way in rushing it. Again, their hearts are in the right place, but they truly don't know. They just don't. What if Jasper or Charlie died like that? Could they honestly say that they would be able to move on?
I hope they back off a little and let Bella mourne in peace. I do think that being there for her is great and even getting her to make more friends is ideal, but men? I just don't think so. Not yet, at least.
Still, you're showing a beautiful and sad story and I'm looking forward to read more of Bella's journey.
