I completely get where Bella is coming from. I can't imagine how lonely and unimportant she's feeling right now. She needs to take Irina's advice and open herself up to someone new and work on her trust issues. She should choose a woman to befriend and hang out with, a man may make her feel intimidated.
I don't see why she couldn't still go visit Edward, though. Instead of talking on the phone they could have some quite time when he got home. She could have always found something to occupy her time during the day while he was working.
