You haven't missed Victoria because I haven't mentioned her. Right now in this story, it's a few days after Christmas. In canon, Bella was still mourning Edward leaving (this was where SM wrote "October, November, December, January" to pass over Bella's four months of anguish) in December. So at this point, in canon and my story, Victoria is not even on the radar. She's a non-factor.

Wow. Good for Bella! The break-up in New Moon was essential for Edward and Bella's relationship in the long run; it proved to themselves how much they needed one another, and let Bella grow some as a person, but it breaks my heart. I absolutely love that it was Bella here who actually broke it off, but you made it perfectly obvious that it's not what she wanted to do, it's not what Edward wanted to do, but it's what needed to happen. I think if Edward leaves now, he would end up returning sooner than he would have in New Moon. This conversation, and all of Bella's logical points went a long way toward debunking all of Edward's ridiculous reasons to stay away. Thanks for sharing!
