I'm so glad that both babies are safe, and so is their mama. I'm guessing that they will have a few wet nurses for the babies, since it was common practice for royalty to want their wives to resume their royal duties fairly quickly. I can't imagine being a wet nurse, though. Talk about feeling like your body is a slave.

Jen---I have read a couple of your other stories, and am now also reading Breakaway.  I have to say, when I first saw the title and description of this story, I did not read it---I am not into historical fiction romance--actually avoid them (hate the verbage normally), but YOU have made me read this one. You did an EXCELLENT job with this, and am anxiously awaiting the remainder of the story!!

phew!!!! i was soo worried that something would happen to alice. soo sooo worried!!! i read your teaser on the blog and i just couldn't stop thinking about this story for some reason. just glad everything turned out for the best

i was prepared for a whole bunch of edward angst in here. after witnessing what jasper and alice had to go through, i was scared that he would have the same fear for bella, that she would have to go through a difficult childbirth and both she and their babies will be in danger. with edward's overprotectiveness, i have no doubt that that's a really big fear of his...of anyone, really. i really really hope their babies will be one boy and one girl. that would just be perfect.

I wasn't sure if i wanted to read this... you're on my alerts on ff, but when i ran across it on here, i decided that i'd try it out... it's a really good story. i can't wait to read more.

Sorry I skipped a review!  Busy on this end, but I loved the action and intrigue in the last chapters!  Let's hear it for Emmett!!  I did have my fingers crossed for him.  Okay, the names...well, if Alice's baby is a girl, my suggestions are: Jalica Grace  (pronounced Jalisa)  The name is a combination of Jasper and Alice's first names.  If Edward and Bella have twins, for a son: Edric Jacob Antony (Edric means blessed ruler in old english) and if they have a daughter:Esabell Alice.  Again the first name is a combination of Esme and Bella.  Most royals then and now have at least 2 names (i.e. Prince Charles, Charles Phillip Arthur George)  I can't wait to find out if the babies are boys/girls or a combo!

As for names, perhaps Phillip (means lover of horses...haha) Greek origin
Or Peter - more of a Biblical reference...means Rock.

As for girls, Sarah means princess, so it would be fitting, though it's kind of boring...what about Emma? It means Universal, and is of English origin...

Name suggestions from your obsessively devoted fan (though I don't realy review, sorry :O) ):

The obvious choices would be Edward & Elizabeth, because they are not only common, almost exected, Royal names, but they are also a nod to cannon Edward's human parents. Plus, Isabel & Isabella are the Spanish versions of Elizabeth

Mariabella (a rare English name combining Maria & Bella) is a neat reversal of Bella Marie. Annabelle would be another reference to her and is derived from Amabel (meaning lovable). Angela or Angelle (or its variants), because of E & B's tendency to refer to each other as angels, and Angelina is both an English & Spanish name. Alethea was coined in the 1600s, so is time appropriate & pretty, and means truth, which considering the rumors surrounding Bella's pregnancy would be fitting. Clare or Clara (clear) for the same reason, and the latter being a Spanish & English name. Carlyn (a form of Carolyn), which is a from Carolus (Latin form of Charles), is obviously similar to Carlisle & could be a nod to both their fathers (despite her distaste for him in general, Bella would have been raised to respect her father). Esmeralda, an English & Spanish name that means emerald, for if she has Edward's green eyes, plus is a tie to Esme, though it might not have been a common name until after Victor Hugo. Eleanor was a popular name & at least 2 queens had it, including the wife of Edward I.

Ambrose means immortal (a nod to vampires). Boniface (as a middle name), which was popular in the English Middle Ages, means good fate and I believe is the formal name SM uses for Carlisle, or something like that. Anthony because of Edward's middle name & its history of Roman Emperors & Christian Saints. Eric/ck, meaning "ever ruler." Edison means "son of Edward" and Edmund "blessed protector." Julian was a popular English name from the 13th century on, derived from Julius (as in Julius Caeser), which comes from Jupiter (Roman Zeus). (Gillian was the popular feminine version of the name). Frederick means "peaceful ruler."  Harold means "leader of the army."

I was going to suggest Grace, in deference to canon Bella's lack of it as a human, but it was actually popularized by the Puritans in the 1600s, and the Puritans were reviled in England at that time.

Great surprise ending. I thoughtit was an assasination attempt but it was only Alice going into labor. As for baby names how about Anthony in was a common name at that time but for a girl I would definitely stick with Elizabeth.
