I'm just reading the outtakes as they come on the list. I was very curious as to what Esme did with the ashes. Lovely to read how things go over a period of time and holidays are always a good time to think of happy memories. I loved your story behind the flamingos.

Take care,

Trilby.

You never did say what she did with the ashes. Will you ever let us know?

Author's Response:

I got so many pm's suggesting so many different things readers would have done with his ashes that I've left it to the reader's imagination. My personal take would have been to dump them in the landfill (garbage dump) or find the nastiest gas station in town to flush them down the toilet.

Love this glimpse in the future! TPW has always been one of my favorite fanfics. I just finished reading it again for like the 5 time. I also have DOP on my kindle and that has been read a few times too. I saw that you are working on a sequel to DOP and I cannot tell you how happy that makes me. I am so excited to see where that story goes. I almost die every time I read the end of DOP and I need to know more about what happened with them after that day. Thanks so much for all you great writing. I love it all!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this and also DOP. Yes there is a sequel in the works, but it will be a while still. I'm actually working on a new paranormal series due out sometime next year. Be sure to check out Blind Faith (my first novel) as well. It's a stand alone novel so no "cliff hangers". ;)

i really liked this o/s..it definitely gave more insight to the character and how she dealt with everything. but i wasnt sure what you meant by this line

I sat on the edge of my bed and pinched my arm, wincing at the pain. I looked down at the red mark on my left arm and rubbed it to relieve the sting. I've been doing that a lot lately; every time I prepared a meal that I wanted to eat,

why wouldnt she be able to eat something she prepared if carlisle was dead and she was free?

and also i was wondering if you could share what you changed the characters names to...just curious

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked it. She pinches herself to be sure she isn't dreaming. Her nightmare of 30 years living with Carlisle is over. It took a while for the reality that it was really over to sink in. She lived 30 years in an abusive marriage. The instinct to look over your shoulder or follow known patterns is hard to break after that long. It surprises her everytime she does something she wants that there's no reprecussions.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading my stories and for all your hard work beta'ing the French translation. I gave up television completely over a year ago to make time to write.  Some days I wish I would go back to just sitting in front of the TV. It was easier.  :)

Take care!

Mic

Yes, she got to talk to them. They passed away before the time of the outtake.

Author's Response:

This was a one shot only. I may write a couple of additional one shots from different points of view, but they will be stand-alone chapters as well. I will continue Jasper/Alice's story "Better Than Perfect" soon.

Esme is such an amazing woman! Classy and strong, and the undeniable pillar of their family. The love she has for them is truly heart touching. I might have gotten a little misty-eyed reading it :)

I'm really looking forward to TDOP! Will it be released as on e-book format?

Author's Response:

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I wanted to show that not everything is perfect, but it's what you make of the life you've been given that counts. The pink flamingo tree is real and sits in my house every Christmas. The flamingo lights hang in the windows of my sewing room and I even have one flower bed that's full of tacky plastic pink flamingos. I see them every night when I pull in the driveway and I remember to laugh.

The Darkness of Perfection will be released in paperback and ebook formats.

Take care!

I really struggled over the decision whether to say what she did or not. No matter what I came up with I knew someone would think it wasn't good enough so I decided to leave it to the reader's imagination. I'm glad you liked it.

FANTASTIC!! i thought the flamingos were a great and hilarious tradition..my family has a similar one with a set of ceramic cows..i loved reading about the family life with the grandkids, even "Fang"..you should write more outtakes =)

Author's Response:

I'm glad you like it. The story of the flamingo tree is actually true. The picture is from my house. I have a sewing room with flamingo Christmas lights strung up in the windows - a gift from my nieces. I own earrings, pins, t-shirts and have a flowerbed full of tacky pink flamingos. I don't even like them, but they remind me to laugh.

My husband has been fully disabled for 14 years of our almost 29 years of marriage. I started out with one set of tacky yard ornaments as a joke to embarrass my kids and it's since taken on a life of its own.
