I can kind of see where the parents are coming from. Most parents feel like they are robbed if their children decide to elope, and Carlisle and Esme just had 3 children elope while Will and Cat had 2. I can see why they blame Bella. The other two marriages were kind of dropped in their laps, and of course Bella was the catalyst for all of these weddings. Of course they would be hurt.
However, that doesn't excuse their behavior. They need a way to express their hurt to their children without attacking Bella or making assumptions about her that they actually have no way of knowing.
This was a great and very emotional chapter.

As rare as it is for young shotgun weddings to work out -- it does happen occasionally. And if it isn't going to work out, sometimes people have to figure that out the hard way.
The most successful story I can think of though, was a newspaper article about an adorable old couple that was celebrating, get this, their 80th aniversary. Yes, I typed that and you read it right, 80th anniversary. They got married at 17 and were then 97. (It was a couple years ago, I have no idea how that couple is doing now. More likely than not, one or both are dead.) Everyone said it wouldn't work out. Well, 80 years later, I'd say it worked out...
It is actually kind of sad that people don't make that leap of faith more often. Because a lot of the time it isn't compatibility or whatever that keeps a marriage together. Its work. REALLY hard work, no matter who it is. Nowadays people are so scared of divorce that they wait forever to get married, but waiting forever doesn't mean that the marriage will have better chances.
So, anyway, as scary as it sounds, they are adults, its their decision and they're the ones that have to live with it.

Love this story!!! I especially like the blue roses in the story. For my mom and dad it was always yellow roses. They were special to them. Since my dad has died if we want to get special roses for her it is yellow because that color has special meaning for us.
