You're right in thinking they are super huge, in my head, they're not Charlie Bewley or Daniel Cudmore, because although they're great as vamps, they're just too damn pretty. So Demetri is a younger Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, Masters of The Universe, Universal Soldier) and Felix is the giant of a man that is Nikolai Valuev (A heavy weight Russian Boxer, scary looking mofo) I've popped a couple of images on my blog to give you an idea, but a goggle search would work just as well. No need to go back and look, they didn't, the reason for that being is that they went there to retrieve an equipment cache. They weren't expecting to find Edward or Bella, as the last time they'd seen Edward he was heading off on a search of the 'Bella Principessa' in Port Angeles and ultimately 'blown up'. So as far as they're concerned he's dead, also, Bella's blood had been found spattered in the cell in PA, so, they believed her to have suffered the same fate. Finding them mostly unconscious on Spetses was a big surprise.
A little bit of trivia, the use of 'Thunder' and 'Flash' is actually in homage to troops from WW2, it was specifically used as a means of identification by paratroopers (accompanied by two clicks) during the Normandy landings. If the appropriate response wasn't given, then it was assumed that the person they were 'greeting' was the enemy and required taking out. I could've used many words as safe words, but I kind of liked the idea of given them a little nod.

Yep it is a bad place for a wound, but don't forget Edward is a highly trained military man, and muscle mass can make a world of difference on a wound and his ability to heal. That and I've already 'killed' him once, so it's only fair I cut him some slack eh.
