love your story, Seth cracks me up.  And Edwards comment stupid angel.  LOL.  Quite interested to see hwere this goes.

Author's Response:
Hi again~

Well, I hope you are feeling a little better about things as we go forward? I thought it was really important to show them reconnect with each other and rediscover the love that has always been there, especially for Edward. And, really, who doesn't like sweet, needy, intense Edward?

Next chapter we see the beginning of his day at work and get some information that will be important as we go forward. I do promise light for the next few chapters as Edward and Isabella spend some time just rediscovering each other. Edward has a lot of work to do, hard work, too, and it is coming. I know you are anxious to get to the other characters, and I do assure you...they aren't too far away. Just hang in there with me, okay!?

I've had a few comments about wishing the chapters were longer. I know a lot of you are used to the monsters of The Path We Choose (and really, I was INSANE to ever do that...lol...no matter how much I love you all!) but this story has a much different pace and feel to it. I just write and stop where it feels natural. I will tell you Chapters 9 and 10 are much longer than any of the previous ones, so you can look forward to that!

I will be posting on my regular days over the holidays...but only if you guys promise to keep reviewing! I have the chapters already written to post so I don't want to make you wait for them. My little gift to you all for being such fabulous supporters of me and my story!

Okay, now for your next peek into Seth...and a brief glimpse of Carlisle and Esme.

Enjoy~

"Seth?" Gideon questioned as he approached.

Gideon couldn't help but frown at his most favorite pupil as he watched him. Seth was worried, that much was obvious, but Gideon had been around Seth for a long time now so he knew it was more than that.

"Look," Seth said simply.

Being angels allowed their kind to observe many things at one time. It was just one of the many benefits of being an otherworldly creature. Of course, it was kind of what they were known for, too.

Gideon glanced in the direction Seth indicated and he couldn't help but smile at the scene in front of him. As he watched Edward and Isabella discuss having dinner with Emmett and Rosalie, Gideon flushed with pride at the steps young Edward had already taken. Sure there was so much left to do and in all reality they hadn't even touched on the most difficult things yet, but progress was progress nonetheless.

"Seth, you should be..." Gideon began but then his attention was focused on what Seth was looking at.

"Good morning, Es," Carlisle Cullen told his wife affectionately as he entered a kitchen in a house only a few miles away from that of Edward and Isabella.

It might as well have been on the other side of the country considering the distance between the occupants of the two homes.

"Morning, dear," Esme Cullen answered her husband as she placed a mug of coffee on the table in front of him. She kissed his cheek and then walked back to the counter to get his plate of breakfast.

Ironically, she'd fixed the same meal as her beloved daughter-in-law.

Once she had placed Carlisle's plate on the table and had retrieved her own and a glass of orange juice, they sat in a companionable silence while they ate...as they had done every morning since they'd been married.

A few minutes passed before Esme said, "Edward should have gotten home last night. I hope he had a safe flight."

Esme, along with the two heavenly observers, watched as Carlisle sighed deeply and then allowed his mouth to form a tight line. It was always the same whenever Edward's name was brought up, and had been for too many years to count. By this time it was an unconscious reaction, but the action spoke louder than words.

"Carlisle," Esme said in a resigned voice. She should have known better than to expect a different reaction from him when she mentioned Edward, but he was their son and she loved him. She knew Carlisle did as well. She just wanted things to be different.

So much time had passed; so many things had been left unsaid by all of them. Grief, misunderstandings, anger...all had festered and grown, unchecked; until the family was in the disarray it was in now. At this point, blame or who said what first didn't even matter. Esme wanted it fixed, and she wanted it fixed now. Enough was by God enough.

"Carlisle William Cullen," Esme said in a sharp, fierce voice causing him to slosh hot coffee onto his hand. "You know, for someone who was treated as an afterthought by his father, you would think you would try to be different with your own children," she said and then stood to carry their dishes to the sink.

"I'm having lunch with Emmett today," Carlisle answered lamely.

Esme turned her green eyes, the same one's Edward had inherited from her sister, and let them smolder at her obstinate husband. "That is not the son I am referring to, and you damn well know it. If something had happened to Edward on his flight home yesterday, just think how you would feel. I've lived for twenty years with the regret of not reconciling with my sister and there is not a day that goes by that I am not pained by that fact. I'd hate for you to have to live with the same regret, Carlisle."

With that, she turned and left the room, leaving Carlisle to ponder what she said. His heart did truly ache for his son and for the distance between the two; he just didn't know how to fix it. He didn't even know where to start.

The two unseen observers looked toward each other, both with the same pained expressions on their faces.

"So much hurt," Seth said as his heart beat painfully in his chest. While this assignment was one he had wanted, in fact he'd wanted it more than any other; it did not come without its own personal, painful reminders. Seth's life before he began his new one as an angel had many similarities to Edward's. Not exactly of course, but enough that it made it easier for Seth to understand Edward than anyone else.

"Yes, but so much forgiveness and love and joy when all is said and done," Gideon said quietly. "You can do this Seth, you must. Not just for Edward, but for all of them."

With that he took his leave while Seth continued to watch over the family that had come to mean so much to him.

~~~~OOO~~~~OOO~~~~
Well? What did you think? Seth has his work cut out for him, that is for sure. I'll continue to give you glimpses of things I'm not showing in the chapters themselves and before too long we'll get to Seth's story, too. So, as long as you all like getting the little peeks, I'll keep writing them. I want the story to focus on Edward and Isabella, but there are things happening in the background that are important, too.
Fantastic story! The more I read of this piece, the more I find myself hoping that Edward will be granted a reprieve...not for his sake so much, but for Isabella's. Poor dear, she just got her Edward back.
Anyway, this is one of my very favorite stories so, PLEASE, keep up the fantastic work!!
This was a very sweet chapter and Isabella really seems to have it together and she knows exactly how to handle Edward without pushing him too much.
Does Isabella have any issues to work through that will affect her relationship with Edward?
I will be posting on my regular days over the holidays...but only if you guys promise to keep reviewing! I have the chapters already written to post so I don't want to make you wait for them. My little gift to you all for being such fabulous supporters of me and my story!
Okay, now for your next peek into Seth...and a brief glimpse of Carlisle and Esme.
Enjoy~
~~~~OOO~~~~OOO~~~~

~~~~OOO~~~~OOO~~~~
Well? What did you think? Seth has his work cut out for him, that is for sure. I'll continue to give you glimpses of things I'm not showing in the chapters themselves and before too long we'll get to Seth's story, too. So, as long as you all like getting the little peeks, I'll keep writing them. I want the story to focus on Edward and Isabella, but there are things happening in the background that are important, too.
Hi again~
Well, I hope you are feeling a little better about things as we go forward? I thought it was really important to show them reconnect with each other and rediscover the love that has always been there, especially for Edward. And, really, who doesn't like sweet, needy, intense Edward?
Next chapter we see the beginning of his day at work and get some information that will be important as we go forward. I do promise light for the next few chapters as Edward and Isabella spend some time just rediscovering each other. Edward has a lot of work to do, hard work, too, and it is coming. I know you are anxious to get to the other characters, and I do assure you...they aren't too far away. Just hang in there with me, okay!?
I really liked Isabella's outburst and show of temper.  Fiesty!  But she didn't just get angry; she also recovered nicely and went on to have an important discussion with Edward.
Author's Response:
Hi again Coleen~
Yep, Isabella is feisty and she will always be honest with Edward. He may not, and more than likely won't like everything she has to say to him...but he sure does need to hear it all. I hope you can see the progress he's making, it might not be huge steps, but they are steps just the same.
I'm glad Isabella is so honest about the fact that, although she doesn't hate him, she doesn't like him most of the time either.  Obviously, this is what he needs to hear.
I'm looking forward to the rest of their conversation!  Thanks for writing this.
Author's Response:
I know it was kind of a hard chapter to read, but I hope you agree it is necessary for her to be as honest and up front with him as she can be. He won't like everything he hears, no doubt about it, but it's all necessary in order to go forward. Hang in there with him, he's learning. And keep telling yourself that I know what I'm doing...I promise if you have faith, it'll be worth it in the end!
The love-making was very sweet and well-written.  It was also intriguing to get a hint of the back story for Edward.  I look forward to learning more about why he is the way he is.
I can understand Bella's reaction at the end.  She must be totally confused by Edward!
Great story!
Author's Response:
Hi Coleen!
So glad you are enjoying the story...and glad you liked the lemon! I actually enjoy writing them and my other story The Path We Choose was nominated for Best Lemon in the recent Sparkleteer Rare Gem Awards. I was kind of proud of that! I am happy you liked the brief peek into Edward's past. He is a complicated guy, that is for sure!
Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to leave a review!
lol   Go Bella.   Knock some sense into the man
Author's Response:
Hi again...
Ha, ha! Yep, like I said, Isabella isn't just going to sit by and let him skate by. She may not yell and scream, but you can be sure she'll get her point across. So, do you want to kick Edward, or hug him...or both?! I hope you have a little better understanding of him now. Try to remember, there is a reason he is the way he is...and he's had a lot to deal with in just one day! The poor man is about at the end of his rope!
I hope you will continue reading and sticking with me, and of course letting me know what you think as we go along.
The support and feedback mean so much! Thanks for reading. Look for another update tomorrow and then Chapter 6 on Sunday. The blog has teasers...just in case you wanted to take a look! Hope to hear from you soon!
Author's Response:
Yes, Isabella is feisty, so don't worry about her not letting Edward know what she thinks!
I really like this story so far. It seemed kind of odd that Bella would snap at Edward like that after she let him make love to her without answers, but it's your story and I'll trust you with it. Looking forward to the next update!
