I really enjoyed reading your story. Although I'm a bit sad that it is so short. I think the world you created has great potential for more.
That vampires were created by science is an interesting twist, I think I have seen something like that before in a movie, too bad that I don't remember the title.
I simply loved that Kenna named her baby after her dead friend and how you described Maya's reactions to the baby was quite touching in a sad way. The poor woman. At least she has Alex now.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for that. Yeah I heard before that it is sad it is so short. But it was one of the critirias for writing for the challenge, max 20.000 words and mine was 19.500 or something. I wish you remembered the title of the movie, as I would like to see that twist on this genre of bloodsuckers. I was a little worried people would think my take on Maya was delusional, especially the moment where she gets confused and tries to feed the baby. but in my world, that is something a traumatized woman might get confused and actually do in my world. I love this story. Now I'm a Twihard, but this is better. Kenna is everthing Bella Swan's not. Kenna has a personality, Kenna is aware of the danger, but most of all Kenna's not a love sick puppy. The only thing I'm not to fond on his how these vampires came to be, but at least they don't sparkle.

Author's Response: Hi Scrawl Thanks for the review... I really appreciate it. But aren't we all twihards? I know I am, but I am also discovering there are more than Bella swans in this world. When writing my heart and soul is in the Original fiction world. I wish more of those who write FF would spend their time and energy plotting more than just hunky, sex god Edwards or doe eyed Bella's. But hey... that is where the readers are, so once in a while you have to oblidge. As for the theory of how my vamps came to be, it was part of the challange to give the vamps your own twist, so I made my imagination run wild for a bit. Some love it others hate it, though, I don't think that is the important thing - I normally just appreciate if someone is willing to think outside of the box and take a risk. So that is what I tried to do.
