Everyone is excited for Bella to confront Alice. I'm starting to realize, besides Edward waking up, this is the most anticipated event of the story. I'm really going to try to do it justice.
Her family is there for her and does realize just how invested in Edward she is. They also see that she loves him fiercely and that Edward is motivated to get better.

I think Bella should report his parents. They are taking advantage of Edward and the hospitial. With their money.
Not only having him forcibly restrained but forcing his decision on where he can go as well.
With that money Edward has given Bella. She should lawyer him up that very day and tell him she is lawyer'ing him up as well.
They really need to speak to one another. She needs to stop acting like a child and doing whatever the hell they say. And just speak to Edward without any restraint. Telling him how she feels word for fucking word.And telling him Esme exactly how she feels and exactly what she plans to do.
She had been by Edward's side for fucking years. And suddenly they give a shit? I don't think so.
Bella really needs to actually speak with Edward. She is babying him just like Carlisle and Esme when she cuts things out of her dialect and refuses to talk about things. When she should be telling Edward exactly what is going on and exactly how she feels about it.
How would he know she is fighting for him if she never tells him? This passive agressive atitude from her is so pointless. She needs to get on the agressive side and stat. Though she should have done so from the beginning of this chapter.
And she also should have gotten a lawyer by the end of that last conversation with Esme. It's not to late to do so though. She can surprise them with a lawyer in the morning and Edward totally behind it.
If this continues. I tink I'll just wait till the ending. It's very frustrating how little Bella is doing and simply blaming the situation. Along with Emmett.

Huh. I would have to say this is the first time Bella's been accused of being passive aggressive and just blaming things on other people. The way I have perceived it is that Bella is trying to deal with the situation the best way she can. She is young and completely inexperienced on how things work.
Now, regarding the issue that Bella should sue his parents. Honestly, it would be the worst thing that she could possibly do at this moment in time. Not only would she lose because his parents really haven't shown that they are incompetent to anyone that would matter if it goes to trial, but Edward would never pass a competency hearing in the condition he currently is in. Trust me, it would be required. Sure, he might seem he's all there. In reality, though, he is far from it. He is not in any position to make decisions of any kind. This is the reason why Bella isn't running to him with her problems.
Sure, she has access to some of his money, but it's for a specific purpose. Using it to gain "control" over Edward could backfire on her horribly.
I have no plans on dealing with a long, drawn out court case in this fic. It's what would have to happen if I decided to bring legal action into it. Instead, Edward healing and finding himself is more of the plan I'm going with. He is still in control of himself, despite the fact he's pretty much incompetent. No ruling has been made to say otherwise and all his parents are doing are acting in his place in regards to his medical decisions. They still don't have contol over anything else.
If you decide to wait to read until the ending happens, then I am fine with your choice. I can't force you to read if you are against what is being presented in the story. However, how the plot will play out has already been decided. It's not going to change it for any reason.
Having said that, I do thank you for reading as far as you have.

I think Carlisle and Esme are awful parents, and I think if Emmetts should tell them that Edward would be better off with Bella. They gave up on him for years, and now all of a sudden they want to make things better. Edward is going to be so angry when he finds out that he has to stay at his parents. I don't think it's their intention to be awful parents, but they just feel that this is their best couse of action. Because they are next of kin, they feel it is their duty to step in. Whether or not it's really the right thing to do, though, is entirely another issue.
Once Edward is in a place where he can voice his opinion, things are more than likely going to change.

As to your question about Jasper, I'm actually writing another outtake for charity. This time it's for Fandom Fights Mental Illness. It's going to include an outtake from Jasper's POV and it will explain what happened to him from the time of the accident until he showed up in Seattle. This is my first review and this is a really great story. I don't understand Alice, why is she acting like a bitch towards Bella. I can't believe they said those things to here. Thanks for your concern. He's actually awake now, but not completely back yet. We're all just waiting to see cause it takes time for him to recover.
I have 2 chapters on back up that only need to go to the beta, so those should still get out within the 2 week period. It's the ones I still have to write that may take longer. Since he's doing better and is still improving, I'm hopeful it won't be long until I'm writing again. I really appreciate your understanding.

I am a survivor of domestic abuse. No substance abuse but mental illness and I understand the pain and the scars it leaves (the one's you can't see)... I think those are the worst one's of all...

Gosh, I don't know what to say... I just read all 9 chapters. I am intrigued at what will happen. Being a nurse; I know the severity of it all and if he pulls through what shape he could be left in. Bella is so young to be in such a messed up relationship. I feel weird to say something like "wow great story" but that doesn't mean I don't like it. It's just really serious and I know too many people who've experienced some kind of this situation in their lives...
It's painful but you are doing a great job writing it. I hope you understand my review. It is a good one... it's just a heavy story!

Believe me, I'm not offended that you have a hard time responding with 'great story' or something like that. I know what I've written is pretty cringe-worthy, and is had to get through sometimes. I'm just glad you're reading.
I can honestly say this was one of the hardest things I've ever had to experience. When it comes to some of the medical scenes, though, you may have to forgive me if I'm not exactly precise. LOL. Some of the memories are marred with emotion. I promise I'll try to get it as close as I can. :)

This is such an awesome story, my love. I absolutely love how Bella has fought so hard to keep her relationship with Edward together right until what she believed was the very end. Now she has to pull all her strength together to be strong for him when he needs her the most. She may have broken up with him but she loves him too much to abandon him to a family that she doesn't believe cares enough to stand by him the way he needs. Her breakdown at the end was a long time coming but I'm glad that Esme was there to snap her out of it and get her moving again.
This story has gripped me hard and is not letting go. Thank you for seeking me out otherwise I may not have known about it. I love you so much, darlin and keep sending those chapters cuz I'm dying to know what's coming - D

Writing this story has been no easy task. I have had to go back to a very dark time in my life, and pull out some of the most painful memories I've ever experienced. Reviews like this make it all worth it, though, because I feel like I've done it for something. I don't need a lot of praise, or accolades. Instead, I just want to get this out of my head. Truly, this has been the best therapy.
I thank whatever dumb luck that had me contact you out of the blue. Your help has been much appreciated, and you've helped me gain some courage with this. Seriously, Victoria would not be a part of this fic if it wasn't for you.

Based off your summary I had assumed it would be a DUI car wreck that caused the coma, or maybe a drug-induced coma...but I wasn't expecting a fall-off-the-car-and-hit-your-head coma. I also thought it might be a long coma, but this sounds like he will be waking up soon, then poor Bella will have to break up with him again...at least he will hopefully be sober this time and will take it seriously...can't wait for the next chapter

Actually, he's not really in a coma at all right now. He's technically sleeping off his buzz, but the fall knocked him unconscious. Make sense? If not, it will soon. I've got all kinds of things up my sleeve.

I don't mind a little angst, so I thought it was a good chapter and frankly a long time coming...although Bella is right that the person with the addition has to want to quit for themselves, not someone else, it doesn't mean she has to sit around and witness it - so I totally agreed with finally ending it with him...however, she probably should have waited until he was not under the influence, because you cannot have a reasonable conversation when under the influence, especially with his temper. Can't wait to see what happens next

Another chapter well done.
I forgot to mention that I caught a canon parallel that impressed me. I am BIG into all things canon, and if you can twist an AH fic to use canon parallels, I will pimp it like nobody's business.
The canon parallel I am talking about is the use of Drugs being Edward's "vampire nature." I love that he "tried to keep it from Bella" and that she even got a little taste of it (tho she never changed in Twilight, she was bitten and therefore got a tiny taste of the transition, does that make sense) and then Edward took it away from her by telling her she wouldn't be allowed to do drugs again unless it was pot (just like he sucked the venom out, taking away her chance at immortality). Maybe I'm reading too much into it, or it was an accident on your part (some authors don't realize they've done it ;))
Anyway, i just wanted to say that I loved that, and this chapter!

The canon parallel was intentional. But I wasn't sure if I got it right or not. The reason I love Edward's character in the books is his protective nature. And, if I'm going to write about him and Bella, they have to keep some of their personalities. I hate reading any fic that portrays them completely out of character because why write fanfic then? They might as well write an original story. I want to at least recognize the characters I'm reading.

You bring up a very valid point. Most guys would be out screwing someone else. But if you've ever been with a person that is seriously addcited to drugs, you realize really quick that whatever fix they need always comes first. Before sex, before love, before anything. And, since Jasper knows where the drugs are at, Edward's going to follow him.

I'm really glad you like the story so far. I was really nervous about posting this, and it helps to know that someone likes it.
As for your comment about this being based off of true events, I will say one thing. Without giving anything away, I can say that some of the things that will happen in later chapters contribute to the reason my husband has seizures. But, it's possible that I will decide that Bella and Edward deserve a better HEA than the hubs and I got.
