I really love your story!!! I am a music teacher myself (lol) but I do have an odd love for watching and reading all things "detective" and or "mystery" related" So I have one thought that I can share with you. Yes Bella is a victim BUT she is also a witness to the crime. If they want this to stick, and they will because this crime has implications and ramifications that spread to other incidences as well, they will need her testimony to do it. They can also keep her in the program after she testifies if it is deemed that she is still in danger. With Carlisle being the jerk he is in this story line that would definitely be true. I actually figured that is where you were going with it when you put it in the story (witness protection program) So far everything you have done from that aspect seems very plausible. They should also have ways to help her identify and contact the lawyer that has her money and find a way to make it hers once she is 18, which should be soon right?
Once again my knowledge is based on years of reading detective novels and watching every Matlock, CSI, Numbers, The Mentalist, Monk, Murder She Wrote, In the Heat of the Night, & Law and Order episode aired on tv through prime time and reruns. (LOL) If there is anything I can do to help you by putting that knowledge to work let me know. (Who knew watching hours of TV as a kid could be so useful - :)

Oh my god! I love it! So glad things finally seem to be getting better for Bella! Can't wait til the next update - I was sadly checking my email all day for this chapter! I hope we get to hear what is happening with Edward while bella is in hiding and that once she is away from them that she tells at least Matt the full story including about her dad and his will and how she came to be with the cullens.
An outtake pov from Edward, Carlisle and Esme reflecting on the current situation and Edwards behaviour past few years (i.e whether they Carlisle and Esme knew what was going on) would be amazing if you felt able to do it! No pressure, just saying! ;p

I don't think the music influences Edward because you listen to the music you like and Edward apparently has the personality to be able to write these rap songs himself. He only is concerned about himself and is not in the least concerned about Bella's welfare unless it suits him. The trip up to Tennessee showed this in detail. So I guess once Edward/Bella are somewhere in the mountains he will be nice but clingy and overprotective. After Bella remembers the lawyers name she starts to prepare for her escape(saves money....) and she contacts Michael about details.
