Bella laughed brightly during their back and forth banter, but noticed Emmett's stiff posture out of the corner of her eye. She bit her lip and decided that there was no time like the present to find out just what his problem was. She looked up into Edward's face and smiled.
"Do you think you could go check on Jack, to make sure he remembers his helmet and pads? He has a tendency to forget things when he gets excited."
Edward nodded and grinned before turning and heading up the stairs. When he was out of sight, she whirled to face Emmett and put her hands on her hips.
"What is your problem?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," he replied in a voice as blank as his face. She narrowed her eyes and took a step forward, so she wouldn't have to raise her voice.
"Yes, yes you do. I want to know what problem you have with me, that makes you feel the need to glower at the back of my head whenever you don't think I'm looking. Pretty soon Edward or Jack are going to notice, too, and I'll be damned if I let that happen. Both of them have already been hurt too much without adding you to the pile."

I loved the chapter. My son was born on Good Friday and we took him home on Easter Sunday so I loved that detail. I think it's great that Edward wanted to spend time with both Bella and Jack. I thought it was cute that Edward seemed to get jealous of Demetri. I saw your Demetri shares my last name. He's not going to be evil, right? I might get a little offended. LoL. "Do you think you could go check on Jack, to make sure he remembers his helmet and pads? He has a tendency to forget things when he gets excited."
Edward nodded and grinned before turning and heading up the stairs. When he was out of sight, she whirled to face Emmett and put her hands on her hips.
"What is your problem?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," he replied in a voice as blank as his face. She narrowed her eyes and took a step forward, so she wouldn't have to raise her voice.
"Yes, yes you do. I want to know what problem you have with me, that makes you feel the need to glower at the back of my head whenever you don't think I'm looking. "Good afternoon, Mr. Cullen," a beautiful brunette with ice blue eyes simpered, as she stood from her seat behind a large desk. "I was told you wouldn't be in the office for a few weeks."
Bella quirked an eyebrow at the girl's blatant flirtatiousness. She looked over at Edward and noticed that his posture immediately straightened and his voice took on a cooler tone.
"Gianna," he nodded to the woman. "I'm only stopping by to grab a few things and to show my family around a little bit."
Bella's eyes cut to his face, surprised to have herself included in that statement. He smiled gently at her before leading her and Jack towards the large corner office.
"Family?" Gianna asked, confused. She didn't spare Bella a second glance, but her jaw dropped as soon as she got a good look at Jack. "Oh my God," she whispered and sat down quickly. As soon as Edward's door closed behind them, she picked up her phone and dialed.
"Jane? You are not going to believe who just walked in here!"

This story seems to get better the more times I read it. It never falters my interest. I'm glad it isn't those stories where the pace of the plot is way to fast and it ends up being a terrible story that no one actually understand because of the quick pace it was set on. I personally like stories that take time so you can see the characters develop individually throughout the plot so you can actually 'know' them. Its great to have that insight of the characters because you feel like you virtually are 'in' the story. You can get quite involved in the story. Suddenly you feel like you actually are in the story; that way you can feel like you are character. Its great to see stories like that and I'm happy to say that this is one of those brilliant stories!individually

Got to love "Protective-Jasper" and "Jumping-to-wrong-conclusions-Edward". For being so young, Bella has the most mature and level head on her shoulders out of the three of them. Jasper does have a good legal point of view, but sometimes doing the right thing is better than doing the safe thing.
Sweet inclusion of Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger - "sometimes you just need to be reminded that you're not alone". Very true.
Loved Jack's excitement of making a b'day cake for his dad - and capitalizing "DAD" on the cake. Nice.
Why hasn't anything been done about the ex-wife, yet?!?! I so want to see Edward go after her and give her what she deserves. The Phenoix PD needs to be contacted to close Jack's case and open arrest warrent on the ex.

Bella quirked an eyebrow at the girl's blatant flirtatiousness. She looked over at Edward and noticed that his posture immediately straightened and his voice took on a cooler tone.
"Gianna," he nodded to the woman. "I'm only stopping by to grab a few things and to show my family around a little bit."
Bella's eyes cut to his face, surprised to have herself included in that statement. He smiled gently at her before leading her and Jack towards the large corner office.

things seem to be moving forward for eddie and bella and it looks like little jack will have his mommy and daddy together at some point in the future. em is different here from most stories he is very defensive of his family and unwilling to give bella a chance, looks like he is gonna need a talking to from momma e, daddy c, eddie and rose to make sure he sorts his shit out and soom.
